I am looking for a poem to give to my youngest daughter who is expecting her first baby on July 24th. I gave a poem to my oldest daughter for the birth of her first child, but can't seem to find a good one this time around. I would like for it to be a sentimental mother-to-daughter one if possible! I have written poems before, but it was a long time ago and my brain just can't seem to come up with anything good. Help!!!

The one that I gave to my other daughter fit on an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper that I framed for her. Just something about it being her turn to be a mother, how time has passed so quickly...you know - just the typical mushy stuff!

Awaiting Little You
Sherri L. Sides
Coming into my world, is what I long await
Nine months have passed so slowly, giving you and me time to relate.
Your arrival will give wings to us, changing couple to sweet family,
Bonding us all in our lifetimes as the two of us become three.
I have read to you lines of poetry to develop your love of verse,
I have sung to you songs and hymns I love, to quench your spiritual thirst.
I have spoken to you of family and the world they mean to me,
All of whom will surround you soon, this beautiful new baby to see.
I have spoken to you of our home and the warmth and love you will bring,
may you always know your importance here and how your laughter will make my heart
sing.
I have spoken to you of God, the joy and hope He gives to my heart,
praying that you, too, will discover the richness His love imparts.
Little baby you just can't imagine wondrous blessings as your life begins,
the greatest blessings that will be bestowed upon you, are the blessings of family and
friends.
My Little Girl
Meghann E. Mastri
Ten tiny fingers,
Ten tiny toes,
Two little eyes,
And one little nose.
A beautiful smile
Curly blonde hair
A perfect angle
Just standing there
A blank slate
For me to mold
A little girl
For me to hold
She watches my every move
Sure not to miss a beat
I can't believe I am a mom
It's different, but neat
My hero, my savior
My own little me
The love of my life
It's hard to believe
An unbreakable bond
Between her and I
No limit to love
When it reaches the sky

I ended up just giving her the same one that I gave my other daughter for her first son, only I had to change the gender. It worked okay for now. But I do agree that more need to be written! Thank you for your responses~
