Liar Liar!!!

I've always wondered, why people lie. I do sometimes, but my reasons are usually small and do not really hurt anybody but Me. But I have noticed that more and more people lie, hurting and causing pain to others who haven't done anything to them. For example, take the case of Politicians. They lie and lie and lie some more. For whom? I do not see them making the world a better place to live in. There are many reasons for lying, I know, and I have thought of some of them. I want to know some more reasons.

Some people lie because they feel threatened. Some because they are jealous. I have had an experience with someone lying and telling her boyfriend that I stole from her because he is my friend and she is jealous of me. This woman is in her 50's and she is still acting like a teenager. She is still telling lies about me to other people and to him. I can only guess that she will continue to do this.
I wish people had more integrity, but the truth is some just don't. Some people will never be happy and they have to hurt others because, as they say, misery loves company. You are right, people like this do not make the world a better place, and they don't care.
I am happy to say that I am not in her company. I have no control over what she says about me. It doesn't matter what she says, or who believes her, I have my integrity and that is what really matters.

Amen.. That's really nice. And I think more people should take this point very seriously. All they wan to do is lie more and more about the person who lied about them... It's like a Lying War. But I really couldn't understand why someone would lie if they are threatened. Could you please be more specific about that?

Ok, I will be more specific. For example, the woman I was referring to feels threatened by me. She thinks I'm going to steal her boyfriend. That is not true, but because she thinks this, she has to keep making up stories about how I disrespected her, stole from her, lied to him, or whatever she can come up with. She does this all the time. That is what I meant by feeling threatened being a reason for her lying.

That is one thing that I can't stand is when someone lies to me. My ex has a big problem with it, only he lies mostly about stupid things that to me make no sense. For instance, he will ask me to keep our daughter when it is his time and say that he needs to go do this or do that and I will find out later that it didn't have anything to do with this or that and even what he did do, didn't bother me, so why not just tell me the truth to begin with, know what I mean? If anything, I think lying only hurts people in the end and if you are going to lie about something that has no meaning, then how much are you going to lie about something that has alot of meaning? If that makes sense...lol Happy MyLotting!

They make sense. They really do. Why don't you speak to him about it. Tell him that you are Ok with what he was trying to do and need not lie about it. But be careful, this can backfire as he might just shrug off his responsibilities. And as they say, to cover a lie, you need another 1000 lies. I was once cornered real bad because it was a small thing which would have been solved if I had said the truth. But I told a lie and it went on forever. And when the truth was found, I was in a very bad fix.

Maybe a person is afraid
they will hurt the other
person's feelings.
Or, they are worried the other
person won't be their friend
if they know the truth about them.

When I see your title discussion, I remember the saying, 'Liar, liar, pants on fire'!! Ha!! I think that in this world, we are surrounded by liars all over and that is something that is not right. But unfortunately, we are surrounded by them and there's nothing much that we can do but to hope that there will be a better world tomorrow, filled with lots of wonderful persons.
I categorize liars with hypocrites and I think that they are the same bunch. I really hate these types and I wish that I would never come across these types of persons.
