Hi cipals
Students need enough sleep. Otherwise they can not concentrate on what they are reading or studying. You have to find a way to get at least eight hours of sleep every night is the priliminary thing to solve your concentration problem . Anxiety is another cause for the inability to concentrate. Are you worried? If so you might have to find a solution for your axiety and worry.
Another cause is diet. Your body needs food to keep it works. Include more fruits and vegetables in your diet.
One of the best way to get concentration on studies is that you have to cut off from noises that distract you from your studies. If you like music in the background ( many people need), it's OK but do not play it louder that you listen music and does not follow the books. Also get a specific space for you dedicated for your studies like a corner of a room, particular table, chair etc. You can sit there when ever you are studying and this will make you to concentrate on your lessons.
Switch off the cell phone and do not go to answer the land phone it rigs while you are studiying.
Another thing is if you have distracting thoughts, set a specific time for such thoughts which come to your mind to interfere the concentration.

Everyone would like to acquire good schooling habits. And a lot would say that the process is really difficult.
I would suggest that you write your goal. somewher that you will see and read it everyday. this will make it part of your system. then, identify the ways for you to reach your goal - say, read math 1 hour a day for advance reading, 1 hour for english, 1 hour for science. you can even do it per chapter. track and monitor everyday. make sure to reward yourself if you were able to do it. ask your parents for a treat out or additional one day worth of allowance if you did a job well. this will reinforce your habits.
It takes 21 days to build a habit, as they say.
You can also put pressure by asking your parents to reduce your allowance if you failed to follow due to negligence.
Also, identify distractions and set action items to avoid them. and make sure to follow them. The toughest of all distractions is peer pressure. make sure to choose your peers and share your goals with them. that way, you are influencing other people to do the same. and you are keeping yourself for meeting your goal.
By the end of the school year, you will feel better and I am sure that you will notice a change in your study habits.
Good luck!

Thanks for giving quite an interesting suggesstion.
In accordance to this, i might buy a white board and a white board pen so that i could write my tasks and display it infront of my study table.
I hope i could develop my habit in 21 days still i am way far from reality right now.
I also wanted to get more info on how to get a good study habit.
