i did and its fun. they are very nice and loveable. you just have to hold them extra careful because their bones are very fragile. specially when you hold and hug them.

You don't have to have actual living grass for them. But they do need hay in their diet (a grass hay). Both of my rabbits are indoor rabbits and are doing just fine.

When I was 4 I had a white rabbit with pink eyes and her name was Miffy. She lived in a hutch just outside our house. She came out all day in our garden. She had the most wonderful life. Then when I was a teenager I had a sandy and white rabbit called Sally and my sister had a black lop rabbit called Tiggy. We thought both were female but Tiggy was in fact male! They had seven bunnies and we found a home for two of them. We kept the other five: Popeye, William, Miss Muffet, Flec and Binki. Then my mums American friend gave her four rabbits and a parrot. I still have the parrot today and he is now 21 years old. His name is Bingo. It is wonderful to think back and remember all the rabbits that I had when I was younger. Sally once dug a hole out of our garden. I was heartbroken thinking that she was lost. You can imagine how relieved I was when someone responded to the 'lost' notices. A lady called to say my rabbit was in her garden so I luckily did get her back three days after sh went missing. Yes, rabbits like gentle handling, a safe place like a large stretch of grass in the day and a secure hutch at night.

They are somewhat delicate, which is why rabbits generally make poor pets for children. The main danger is that if you don't hold them tight enough, they will either kick and break their back, or get free and possible break a bone or two in the fall. Rabbits don't generally like being held as much as a lot of other types of pets. My rabbits both behave more like cats. They want to be petted when they want to be petted, and they never ever want me to hold them.

I've never had a rabbit for a pet but I've always wanted one. The problem is I'm allergic to rabbits. They are so cute and cuddly. I'm not highly allergic because I can still hold one but I usually sneeze a lot and get watery eyes. It's the pet that I want the most. Someday I might look into getting medication from the doctor so I can have one.
