what film based on one of your favorite books did you hate?

and what film based in a book did you love?
the film based on a book that i hated the most was captain corelli's mandolin. friends who saw the film without reading the book really liked it, but i hated it as it had a completely different ending to the book!

i loved all the harry potter books and i even loved all the movies except for the goblet of fire. that movie was just a let down compared to the book. it left to much out and changed to much stuff.
now i do wish they would come out with more from vc andrews books. i mean they did flowers in the attic and it was great but what about some of the rest of her books.
the stand was a great book and a great movie they managed to keep most of it in there and didnt change to much stuff and it was a long movie of course 8 hours but worth the watch time.

A lot of people may disagree with me here, but the Harry Potter series. They're great films - don't get me wrong - but the characters arn't really what I had invisaged in the books, do you know what I mean?
