My mother is coming to stay with me for the weekend. We are going to spend the weekend cooking for a family reunion that is on Sunday. I have soooo much to do to get ready for her and have dont feel like doing it..lol I have to go to the store and get the things that we need to cook and I have to clean my house from top to bottom so that she wont see the cobwebs that are growing in the corners or the dust that has settled on the baseboards..lol What do you do to prepare for a friend or relative that is coming to stay a couple days? Do you make yourself crazy trying to get everything perfect? Do you not worry about it and clean it after they leave? Do you make it presentable enough to get by? etc.......?

I used to really fret over my mom coming to visit, whether it was for a couple of days or a week. It seemed that no matter how clean my house was she would find something to clean, it used to drive me crazy (Huh? Charlotte, lol) But then I decided that my house was never that dirty, and that if she wanted to re-clean it, so be it. I have always kept my house clean, no I'm not a clean freak or anything. But, I normally dust twice a week, vacuum, etc. So, if someone is coming to visit, I just plan out what I need from the grocery store, straighten up the house, run the vacuum and freshen the bedding in the guest room.

Well my house isnt exactly filthy, but its not as clean as it should be either..lol I clean houses for a living and have gotten to the point that I am like a mechanic...I dont want to work on my own stuff..lol I seem to do the things that I hate for my clients to do, such as leave stuff laying around, ignore the baseboards etc.. Its not all that much now that I think about it, but I still wear myself out just thinking about "what am I forgetting to do". lol
