we are living in peace, that's why we are discussing peacefully about peace.

Yes, I do believe the world will see a true peace at some point, but unfortunately as I turn 40 in a couple of weeks I do not think I will be alive to see it. I do have hope for my (future and wished for) grandchildren as the world globalises. The fact that we have so many different people conversing right here on Mylot from all over the world gives me hope. Cheers!

Would you have peace at any price? Would you give everything you have for it? Would you give in to the radical muslims and live the way they do, without any freedom, oppressed in every way? I prefer not to have that kind of peace. I don't like war, but the terrorists are not just going to go quietly away. To think they would is just naive. We were living peacefully when they bombed the World Trade Center- Twice! And when they blew up the Khobar Towers, took hostages at our embassies, etc. Is that the peace we want? To be victims, afraid to go anywhere or do anything?

unfortunately you are most probably right, it is a shame that humans cannot leave one another alone and allow other people to have different beliefs than their own. I personally think you can believe what you want but will never understand why the need to hurt others bcause they don't agree with us. Fighting for peace - what a silly phrase it's more fighting to say do it my way.

No man
Can't be done - human nature and all that. From a spiritual angle, this has been the case since the 'fall of man'. We are allowed to make our own choices, we are naturally selfish. This just highlights how precious peace is and how acts of kindness are a real blessing and a triumph of our better nature.
It is a miracle that there is any ever peace at all...be grateful for that, but we will never be able to live in peace while our sinful nature presides on this earth.
I presume you're limiting your discussion to our present incarnation??
It's a good question though, you know how to ask 'em

Yes, I do, but not under the rule of men/people. This life is the natural course and unfolding of 'free-will' which is a by product of thinking ability. And also this life is the learning of good and evil, a matter being settled and proven for all time and eternity. Life is difficult and there is much suffering and evil. All suffer some, but God lives through, experiences and suffers it all! Why would he put himself thru all this? Because he's not making an ant farm, but a family.. of many beauftiful branches.. and an eternal-UNbreakable-paradise for all.

Oh, no. I don't think we are living in peace. As you can see the issue of North Korea nuclear program. the Mid-east situation. so-called the war on terror...

Peace can only be achieved in smaller units, such as families, although that is also quite a milestone!
Absolute peace can never be achieved. I think it is for the gods.
Mortal as we are, we can only have peace but for short times and intervals.

not here on earth.. it's going to get worse. there will never be peace on earth because no one can get along it seems and there are so many disagreements in the world. it's too bad but just not likely to happen.
