I am not sure about that. I made a statistics to figure out which one pays more. I found it's the same rate. The payout rate is related with the number of words you write and the rating which the people rate your comment. I guess in your response, the more you write, the higher of the payout rate. If you only write one or two sentences, your payout rate will be 1 penny, while you write more, the payout rate can be up to 3 pennies or more.

I post discussions when I have somehing to say. Some days I am able o post more than other. I am ot one who will post a discussion just or the sake o posting discussions, bu I do post quite a few, as does my husband.

Thats a better way to stay alive here ..even i find it hard to think of a new discussion ,so i just respond to as many discussion as possible..

Simply starting a discussion alone isn't going to bring you any earnings, you have to start discussions that people will actually respond to. If you start 10 discussions that no one bothers with, you're wasting your time. I do both - start discussions and respond - and I'm happy with my earnings.

I agree that starting discussions along with posting is a good way to increase your earnings but, like you, I have trouble thinking of new ones to start and I try not to start one that's been done a few hundred times already or that someone else just started. I guess I'll just have to keep my thinking cap on!

I've noticed the same thing too. If you start a quality discussion and get responses you get paid a few cents more than if you were to post a quality response. Its hard for me to start a discussion. But I try to start at least once a week.

Yes I agree. I noticed that awhile back and I noticed that if I post some discussions, my earnings seem to be higher. It's really not easy for me to think of a discussion and keep up with it, but I try to write down and post a discussion whenever I have an idea just so I could maximize the earnings here.

I believe that you are right about this! On days that I have posted nothing but responses, my earnings are always lower! But then on days when I post some responses and one or two discussions my earnings are higher! I do believe it is a combination of things. Last week, I posted 100 responses (good quality, 4-8 lines each) and made less than two dollars, US. That was a really low amount for me. On days when I post the same number of responses but also start some discussions my earnings are higher! Thanks for the tips. I will try to keep these things in mind from now on! Have a lovely day!

yes its my experience too that starting new discussions is better to earn well with mylot! but again the problem is how to start discussion which are unique and not started previously by other members. Normally what i do is to post the stuffs that come to my mind as and then. my best so far from mylot is $1.06 and that came by posting lot of discussions!

yes, of course starting new discussions is more difficult than responding other discussions, and we deserve more money for that . the problem is almost all imaginable discussions has been here already . so to start a fresh new discussion, we likely need to go beyond our imagination hehehe....

I agree with you about starting discussions will get you more money than responding to them. From my experience here, it seems like starting a discussion gets you like 3-5 times the amount that you get from giving a good long response to someone's question. Too bad it's also harder to start a discussion too. I usually can't think of any good questions to ask people, haha. But responding to people's questions seems to be easy. :)

Hi youless, I'm Opal-nice to meet you. You brought up a good point of interest that certainly got myloters posting. I've been here 1 week and just when I think I figured out the money thing-I am wrong. Today I will have 40 posts and I believe I started 2 discussions because I have been here almost all day. I will see what happens tomorrow. I like the money thing, although by the time I make the $10 payout it may be a New Year. But I am really enjoying all the people that I am meeting and the conversations I get to join in.

A healthhy discussion is always yeilds a good results in terms information and analysis to the that particular topic. In MyLot , there are many topics which can be discussed and with many views , there many informatioon can be gathered. So it is not a bad idea to take part in MyLot discussion and earn money also

That is the key way as you said.. for the past one month or so, i try to do the same..and average about 80 cents a day now..even on days when i am not active , the responses i receive for older topics.. fetches me around 50 to 60 cents.. This rate increases if we try to post at least five or six images here.

The most that I have made this month so far is $1.42 but I am not sure how many responses that I had to make to earn that amount.. I normally don't start discussions, but do respond to quite a few of them.. I may have to try and start a few more discussions, but I will wait and see on that one as I feel as if I have to give a comment to every response that I get from everyone.. Have a great day..

I agree with you! Members do earn more when they start new discussions. Members also earn more when a lot of other members respond to your discussion and then you comment in return. I've made $2 in one day from doing this and uploading new photos. It's best to do as much participation as possible. I have also read from other members discussion that they have made up to double the amount I have made in one day from posting 50 to 100 responses and comments and using mylot.com codes in their postings. Good luck to you! With over 9000 posts, I would guess that you have made a lot of money since I'm only at a little over 400 and have made over $20.

I do have trouble thinking of interesting discussions. My life isn't boring by far, but you know how it is. I really consider it a waist of time posting dumb discussions that only one or two people respond to. I try to think of what people on mylot want to talk about but it's hard. Maybe I should try just posting random stuff and seeing how it works? I saw this one discussion that was "who washes your cloths?" or something like that and it got about 35 responses when I looked at it. I think a topic like that is pretty random, but it's easy to answer so people must like it.

that's a good idea. the only thing to have a unique discussion is try to be creative and explore new things.
