Hi Cher, When I see sites or programmes like this I always think of the times I have probably sold something worth a fair bt for pennies at car boot sales in the past, they do make me want to go and have a rummage at a boot sale though to see if I can spot something similar to what I have seen on there. My biggest give away at a car boot sale though was to a little old man who I know wasn't a dealer, they usually flock to the boot at the start which really annoys me, but his face lit up when he spotted a plate and said oh I have had that set for years and have only recently broken one, I looked into his eyes and could tell he was telling the turth so I let him have it for 10p, a dealer had offered my £5 earlier but it didn't matter he was just chuffed to bits that he had a full set again as it had been part of a wedding gift he and his wife had received years ago. I was just happy he was happy in his find bless but for a dealer I double the price delibrately for some reason. Ellie :D

I have spent most of my life hunting for antique treasures and "the thrill of the hunt" is the main motivation for people like me to keep going. Here's some tips: There are on line directories of places to shop like www.auctionzip.com www.estatesales.net and the new one www.antiquesNut.com I also recommend the cheap trip to shop in Europe described at www.EuropeAntiqueTrip.com Check them out.

I have read some of the Antiques Roadshow stories. They are pretty interesting, huh? We used to buy alot of small antique items but have gotten rid of many of them over the years. It would be such a trip to be told that something we picked up for $10 or $20 is worth a few thousand.

I know what you mean , i often watch shows on the tv like antiques roadshow, cash on the attic etc but i just know i'd end up buying a load of old junk that nobody would want though!! I think it's really cool how the experts know so much about the things that they look at, how they can tell how old something is, where is was made and what it's worth just by looking at it for a few seconds, pretty amazing, and a pretty cool job!
