Who Does Obama Think He Is?

If Obama does not have the most impudent attitude, then I do not know what imudent is. Barack Obama wants to speak at the Brandenburg Gate. He figures it would be a nice backdrop. The supporting cast a cheering audience and a few fainting frauleins would be a picturesque way to bolster his foreign policy credentials. What Obama does not seem to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is something you earn. President Reagan earned the right to speak there because his relentless pressure had brought the Soviet empire to its knees and he was demanding its final "tear down this wall" liquidation. When President Kennedy visited the Brandenburg Gate on the day of his "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, he was representing a country that was prepared to go to the brink of nuclear war to defend West Berlin. Who is Obama representing, and what exactly has he done in his lifetime to merit appropriating the Brandenburg Gate as a campaign prop? What was his role in the fight against communism, the liberation of Eastern Europe, the creation of what George H. W. Bush called "a Europe whole and free"? I am not sure how you fell but Obama's amour-propre might just be set a little too high but that is just me.

I do not like him, I think he believes he is all that and more, most people are placing their support on a man that speaks well and dresses nice, but other than that they have no idea what he stands for. I don't know of anything that he has done to merit him speaking anywhere over seas. He has no experience in anything and I believe his change is just idle words out of his mouth, scream CHANGE long enough and people get to believing it, but do you ever hear what this change is going to be. Some how he got the idea that his fancy money and his education gives him the right to do what ever he wants and if they dont' like it he will buy his way in. I think he is a split tongue idiot who is trying to buy the election. Yes his attitude is a bit too high for his own good.

I believe political leaders should wait for other countries to invite them to do these things rather than say they want them. He hasn't been elected or proven himself as a leader as yet and he's asking for things like this. Humility is obviously something to do with politeness rather than character these days. No one waits for an invitation anymore. People just invite themselves.

Obama, like the rest of the democrats love symbols and perceptions. . They will use symbolism over substance every chance they get.... and it doesn't whether or not it actually means anything or if there is a reason behind it. Obama has done NOTHING that would make that visit anything more than an empty gesture.

If the dems are the ones who love symbols, how come is was the republicans who were up in arms when Obama didn't wear a flag pin or put his hand over his heart for the anthem? Careful now, you'll get caught up in your own double standards.

He's playing up to the people who had the audacity to compare him to John F. Kennedy. He really seems arrogant in the way he deals with these things. Of course the media will fawn over him and will likely help him get Brandenburg Gate as a backdrop. They're already fawning over his first trip to Iraq and begging to come with him despite the fact that McCain has been there several times and the news has completely ignored it to the point that most people don't even know he's been there at all.

He is arrogant, isn't he? Yesterday, I read that he's going to meet with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank on July 23. He's just a presidential candidate, not the president. What business does he have meeting with any country's leaders? None, as far as I'm concerned. I've read that he'll be at the Brandenburg Gate on July 24. Again, what business does he have there?

I have actually never heard of the Brandenburg Gate. Hate to sound so stupid, but I think Obama thinks he can do anything. That is why I will hate to see our country if he gets elected. He is very arrogant and I don't like his attitude.

I was going to say god, but that would be blasphemy, or maybe I should put down God's gift to the American people. I think he is this way because every race has a bad habit that makes people hate them. For instance, us German people are very bossy and love giving orders, the Welsh side of me loves to drink and sing all the time, the English side of me wants to tell people you must always dress neat and use proper grammar. So Obama's black side thinks that he is the most important person i the world and look at me! However we know how all the racial bad attitudes got us, and if he does not smarten off and use a little humility, he might not have a successful run as president if he gets that far. I doubt that he appreciates Bach who wrote the Brandenburg Concert either, does he?

He thinks he is JFK. Watch him. Every time I look at him giving a speech or talking to someone he looks like he is imitating. He has no idea that he is still Obama. Even Caroline Kennedy compared him to her father. He believes it. Even his wife thinks she is camelot. Michelle says, "I am not some scary other. I am Camelot with a tan." It is a very distinct possibility that Caroline Kennedy will be his VP. She was her piece of the action.

It's just a location. It shouldn't really matter where the speech is, so much as what the speech is about. I don't know what's in Obama's mind when he decided to this. Maybe he wanted it for a good setting, or maybe he just wants to make a good impression. Why should it matter? I think I'm going to listen to the speech, and judge Obama by what he says, rather than where he says it. Though it seems like some German officials agreed with you, and they made a fuss about it because they believe it should only be for special occasions. Obama has decided to move the location of his speech at the Berlin Victory Column.

Gewcew, Just last night on the evening news I watched as the press pandered and drooled over their "new born king"! This overseas event should be some circus with ALL THREE major networks sending their anchors ( Katie Couric, Brian Williams and Charlie Gibson) to cover it! Talk about blatant favoitism in the liberal media! This ought to put to rest the arguement that the media is not pro-Obama! As far as him speaking at the Brandenburg Gate I believe he has SAID that althoough he would love to it isn't time yet. Now my belief is that he is hoping to BEGGED by some German official to honor them with his presence at the gate! Just my opinion but let's see hoe it plays out! BTW John McCain has DEMANDED equal time from the networks! It will be interesting to see how that plays out also!

Drooling well that does not surpising to me or anyone that has the stomach to watch the evening news. Not trying to sound conspiratorial here but Obama wanting to campaign at the famous Brandenburg Gate almost sounds like he is campaign for the President of the world.

I'm sorry I have not yet heard this speech but I do disagree. Obama has such a arora about him. He is something special. He is something this country has not seen since Reagan. Not only is he a very powerful speaker but he has the ability to make this place a better place for the middle class. He represents what this country neesds especially after the last eight years. When he speaks at this place he doesn't do because HE wants to. He does it because he has something to say that we need to hear and if he does it there then we know when we listen that he means it.

What I should have said is that we have waited a long time for someone like Obama. Someone that has the ability to bring a lot of people together fighting for a purpose. Someone that reprents us all in a way we can be proud. Who cares where he speaks.

Well he is certainly than the alternative. At least we have no ammo for Obamam. With McCain we have the last 10 yrs we can go back with him. Lets start with if he had it his way we would give amnsesty to 15 million illeagal aliens and have open borders which would have sky-rocketed the welfare state to a height we have never seen before. Which is fine we all have our different views but then McCain wanted to not give hospitals the money to have translation services in order to treat these patients. I mean come on. Lets see then we can go to 2003 where he voted agaisnt drilling oil in the artic keeping us dependant on Middle Eastern oil. How can we vote in a guy that admits he has little command of our economy. Hell his own campaign went broke. Righ now he is cutting every deal with anyone he can to keep his head above water. Nothing but a corporate call girl. I could keep going but I will stop now.
