Talking all wrong...

There isn't a day that goes by in which I don't hear gossip being spread and that bothers me. Why can't people wash around their own doorstep and keep their nose out
of other peoples business?
A quote stands out in my mind that needs to be listened to by everyone that gossips. "If you have nothing good to say about a person, just say nothing"
Right now I have 2 sisters that are both involved in Church, yet they are "talking
others down" all the time. Both of these girls drink alcohol but; to them, lots of other people that drink some too, are headed straight to hell. Where do people like
this come up with these ideas?
Is there really a double standard to everything in life? I just have to wonder about why some think they are better than others. We all came in this world naked
and take nothing with us when we die. Why are people messing up friendships and family ties by being this way? The Bible does say things like this will happen in the later days... is that whats going on?

it is sad, isn't it ? i was raised with that same quote, too.
when my mom tells me what is going on at church,
i'm thinking this sounds like a soap opera !
"friends" against "friends"
and families against families.
i was born, raised and baptised in this church.
for just these reasons, i no longer attend.
i pray every day at home. i still feel close with God.
i guess some people feel, "oh, i go to church religously."
and i can be an SOB when i'm not there and i'm still
religous...i'll still go to heaven.
you know what? alot of those same people will be right next to
you in heaven !

You are right, nobody is perfect and isn't it sad that so many people
judge each other when God is the only judge?

we can all agree, i think, that God is the only judge.
so then, why do people "pretend" their opinion is really and truly
important?
saying things in a negative way, gives me the high sign that i don't really listen to them.
i try to keep things in perspective, too.
if the subject does not really enhance the quality of life, i'm more apt to turn in a no comment.
that may sound egotistical; the older i've gotten, the less time i have to waste on gossip.
