what does sugar daddy or daddy mean

i hear these words so often on tv. however, these words are always said by women to men who arent their fathers. i think i do have some idea but can somenone please clear my misunderstanding

A sugar daddy is a man who will give you money and stuff and daddy is just a shortening of that term. I don't really like the term...or the fact that there are women who use men like that but I guess the men don't mind since they're getting something in return most of the time.
