This is a local park about 16 miles from my home. It is a few miles from my wifes work. In the srping and summer I enjoy walking through various parks for relaxation. Now as it was a hot humid day I decided to go check this park out as I have not been there for many years. We have had plenty of rain so the falls were great looking. There used to be a opath that I had walked to go under the falls and even swim in them. But that is now fenced off securely with a large cast iron gate. I have been here when there was a trickle falling over the cliff for a waterfall. There have been times when we had dignitaries visit when the water was low and the city turned on fire hydrants to have the waterfall fully running for the special guests. Do you have a park with qwaterfalls near you? Have you ever been to a waterfall? Have you ever swam under a waterfall? Here's a link to a great site about waterfalls in Minnesota. http://www.gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/minnehaha.shtml HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have seen some beautiful water falls but not here. We don't have any close by. I don't know how to swim so I would miss out on the joy of swimming under a fall but it does sound like something great to do.

I love waterfalls. I have actually only seen the good ones on television. I would love to go see Niagra Falls one day though. We just recently built a small water garden in our back yard and we have the water trickling over the rocks down to the small ond area. It is so pretty. We have some goldfish in there with some pond plants too. It is very pretty. I also set me a little fisherboy, sitting there fishing from the rocks also. I would love to be able to swim under a waterfall if it was a safe area fior swimming.

I have been to Niagra many times in my childhood. My wife has not seen them either. That place is awesome to see the power of that amount of water rushing. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

There are a couple of waterfalls at the State Park where I used to work at. I went to the smaller falls, which are really pretty and peaceful. The other falls were along a 20 mile hike that I have never been in shape enough to do. But I've seen the photos that other hikers have taken and have been willing to share with me. It's absolutely awesome.

Awesome Look - The top area of the Minnehaha Falls from a side view.
Thanks bunches. I love hearing the sounds of the rushing water prior to it going over the cliff. then to hear it pounding on the creekbed as it falls is another great sound. very nice to relax and listen to the roar of the rushing and falling waterfalls. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

The last waterfall I saw was in New Zealand when i was there on my honeymoon about a year ago. There were so many waterfalls in this place called Milford Sound. Which is a gorge. A gorgeous gorge. it leads out into the open sea and has beautiful falls from the sides of the cliffs. it gets lots of rain water a year, so the falls are usually not dry. there was one called bridalveil falls cos it was so delicate like lace! lovely. glad you enjoyed your stroll grandpa!

Hi GRANDPA BOB! That is so beautiful! It looks so cool and inviting! We don't have waterfalls near our area but we do have lots of awesome waterfalls in our country. I guess, living in the city makes me miss nature more. Take care and God Bless!

that is beautiful! I did not realize there was water falls so close to Wisconsin. I live in the midwest and have not seen any thing like this. When I was in Oregon I played in their water falls and had a great time!

We don't have any parks near here with waterfalls that I can think of. I can't swim so I have never been swimming in one. We do have a park near here in a town called Iuka that has a mineral springs. Most of them have dried up and they have city water coming out of those faucets but I do believe one still has mineral water. Franklin D. Roosevelt use to come there to soak in the mineral springs.

I used to swim in a pool made by a waterfall when I was a teenager, it was in a very out of the way spot in a woods. I found one when I was goldpanning as an adult in northern Calif. It was so nice to bath in the waterfall and pool then stretch out on a rock to dry off in the sun. Those were the days...

I absolutely love waterfalls, there is just something about them that is so calming and soothing, I could just stand and watch them for hours. I have not seen a waterfall for ages, it is a lovely picture that you have taken.

How wonderful to have a park with waterful just near you home. My husband and I like to spend out time in park with streams and waterfall. We would set up our camp nearby, cook simple food, hung a hammock, read and walk through the jungle. But to relax in such places we have to travel several hours in the countryside, driving through rough roads and certain parts can only be reaced by 4x4 vehicles. You are lucky and you have made a good choice buying a house there.
