like father like son?

.. I usually hear people say. like father, like son; like mother, like daughter.. Do you believe in this? Because for me, this is not always true.. there are mothers who are better than their children when it comes to attitude.. On the other hand, there are also children who have another kind of attitude different from their parents..

I really don't believe in this. There are times that there are mannerisms and certain characteristics that a child gets from his/ her parents. However, I don't think that it really follows. Some children turn out real well like their parents, some better and some not even to close to their parents.
