Which color theme of web page do you like?

I have just set up a bbs system. And I am customizing it. I want to choose a suitable color theme for it.
Many websites on the internet are with white backgrounds.So is it the best color for background? How about black? If I pick the black background, then what should the characters' color and links' color be?
I am not a artist, so I am really weak at doing such things. Any one helps?

its depend on you. Try the white and black or black and white or white and gray. Many million dollar web maker is use this color. dont use flash to your website. because it will slow your customer to load the web :) don't forget put some image and picture :) i hope this tips can help you :)

i like green, good for eyes. lovely for eyes. not irritating also
