Remedy to get over stress?

People are leading a stressed life. There is Pressure at work place, pressure at home, maintaining family, financial problems etc, etc. I feel meditation is the best technique to get rid of stress, and lead life peacefully. What do you do to get over stress? Do you have the habit of taking tablets?

I always drink a multivitamin to fight against stress because you cannot avoid it nowadays. As much as possible I get enough of sleep and when I'm really tired I can sleep the whole day. I also like drinking hot chocolate because chocolate soothes me.

yeah,nice to meet you here. we are all under such great pressure,no matter we are as students or as workers.i am a university student,and my pressure comes from my academic performance and peer pressure is also overmwhelming. to release strain, i prefere to listen to the music and read some uplifting books about humanity,then i will derive some penetrating thoughts from books.Then i will transform those pressure to driving force to push me close towards my future dreams. i don't rely on tablets,i think it is not an essential means to solve our problems. The problem lies in our mental pronblem. try to set your hearts free and not always dwell on those negative things. believe your will feel better.

Here are some good stress remedies for those who stress over their partner and future: * Good communication skills. Learn to speak your mind in an intelligent, firm, but kind manner with your partner and also listen to what they have to say. * Never be afraid to talk about any subject of importance with your partner as they should be your best friend first and lover second. * Trust in yourself! We all have a 'gut instinct' and if it's saying this person is the one then work on it with good communication skills, but, if you 'gut' tells you this person makes you feel far worse more often than normal then it's time to pull that plug! * Go for long walks and if your relationship is relatively a close one talk about the future and ask each other what the other wants in their future. * Take time out for each other and don't pass each other like ships in the night from being over worked or too caught up with tension or other every day stresses. Sometimes just cuddling together and saying nothing is enough for both partners to feel secure and safe within each other. * Learn to be independent of your mate. Go out with friends, join certain things you like or take up a hobby. * Yoga, Tai Chi are all good methods of meditation and staying in tune of mind, body and soul. * If you are one of the lucky ones that can afford professional massages then get one every week to relieve tension. If you can't afford it then pick up a book on the subject and join forces with your mate and learn to give each other massages.

I have an headache from the after noon and meditate is what I need but it is hard to get rid of all the thinking thing we cling on like if we won't think the world will come to an end :) I have a friend who is doing meditation permanently and he is even flying around the world to listen to the maharaji in his lectures and he is a relax person and I think he is a good person because of it, among other reasons. can you recommend on a good meditation program ? I think we need to do things on daily basic for us to become relaxed, peaceful and happy people naturally and we won't have to meditate for the intent of reaching those things. an honest person will be a peaceful one. Even if he will have times of stress. so honesty for me is the best meditation. thank you for this discussion, I think my headache had gone while I wrote this response. thank you !!!

I try all sorts of things to help with stress. Meditation is one, also reading, swimming or listening to my favorite music. Pills won't do much good when it comes to stress. The best thing of all is to find out whats causing so much stress and eliminating it if possible.

Hello ramyashreesk, I often meditate and yes it helps me alot and takes myself off to all the wonderful places and even met people and when I come out of it I feel very relaxed and i can carry on with day to day routine. Tamarafireheart.

I also get a lot of stress in fact I get stressed every day. I dont take any kind of medicine for it, I try to deal with it myself.It is very hard to deal with stress.I never tryed meditation. How does meditation help?

Hi ramyashreesk! I get a lot of stress too and the only way that really helps me get over it is through prayers. I just seek the solitude from God and find refuge in Him alone. And there are times that I just sit in the garden and be with nature. Take care and God Bless!

No i try diffrent ways to handle stress, First prayers is the best, second belive that everything will be allright, enjoy- relax - take time to understand. before sleeping i tel my self that "I can do any thing through christ which strengthen me" and next moring i tel my self that "what a great day, today i will be able to face and solve the everything" try it

I have never taken tablets to relieve stress, I just do not believe in taking medication to remove a mood. I do suffer with stress on a regular basis and it does not take much for me to stress out but I just tend to deal with it myself.

We don''t have to feel stressed, it's a choice we make. I keep my stress level reduced by not turning on the radio, not getting upset in traffic, and trying no to react to things in a negative manner. Easier said than done, right? I think to myself "I can choose to feel a different way than I do right now. I don't have to feel upset." Like I said, it sounds good, but it takes time to learn that skill, and remember it! Meditation helps foster this process, and I do meditate. I just know my body and my mind and I can talk my way out of the upset most times. In defense of people who use medication to stay calm, it is not always in a person's control to regulate a peaceful state of mind. No one wants to pop pills all day, but some people have chemical imbalances and that is a real medical illness, not a state of mind. I understand your point however.

yes meditation is the best way to get over stress, it really helps to stay safe and keep yourself healthy. also i got a small tip for you whenever you are stressed just empty your mind. just get rid of any thoughts you have in mind and get rid of any thoughts that come to you when you try to get rid of any thoughts ... trust me its hard but a wonderful technique.

Meditation is the best way to get rid of stress. If you practice meditation and do it every day it will help you a lot. You can also involve in the hobbies like like listening to music or some other hobby which will help you to relax is another way. I never took medicines to get rid of stress. It is not good to have medicines often to relieve you from stress, if you can find relaxation from meditation that will be the best medicine.

I dont take any meds for stress , but i would want to on days I Will walk for stress and swim in the summer and that helps . I always wanted to try meditation . I did tia chi for a bit and tried yoga.

Getting high was one way to get over it, but when you came back to reality another high would omly make you hide from the home, family and financial problems for another short spell. These kinds of stresses can only be solved with hard work. After fighting your way out and move up the ladder at the work place, you are faced with a different kind of stress This one could easily kill you, just to hold on to the position that you worked so hard for. Somehow, walking away and settle for something less will ease the tension and will make one happier. Life is funny, isn't it?.

ya people are leading a stressful life.........as for as am concercened meditation is the best thing to get rid of it......it can also be done by just spending time on your favourite activities.......takng tablets will be nly a short time remedy........
