We Can Both Pretend a While Longer

I see you, you see me
Our eyes speak from afar.
We know this game we play.
We know each other like night knows day.
Yet we never walk any closer.
That time is done and over.
The anger hides not far under the surface.
As I brush past you I yearn I grab your hand a force you to face me.
I want to demand you speak the words my ears have longed to hear.
I want to force the truth to pass between your lips.
I want you to hurt and not me.
However I do not,
I allow you to pass and act like I do not know you,
As you act like you do not know me too.
These moments are becoming few.
Soon they will be but a faded memory.
I wish time would fade it faster.
The chest splitting pain of the truth we both know is too much for me to bear.
I would rather it was something we were both forced share.
This is my secret and my torment.
Your shoulders were not wide enough to hold this weight,
so it has fastly become my fate.
Crying into the night as my heart bleeds to tell someone, anyone.
Darkness so thick,
no rose colored world anymore.
Only fear and the knowledge of that fear.
Turn away all the rest have.
The end will provide my release.
Your end will never come soon enough.
When it does maybe you will finally see,
the destruction you left in your wake,
when all you did was lie and take.
Till my end I will shoulder what you have denied.
It was easier for you to run and hide.
Stand tell for now my love,
we can both pretend for a while longer.
