Do dogs get embarrased?

Given that a dog will quite happily poo in the middle of anywhere, without the slightest concern, and then promptly sniff the next dog's bum, that it meets ... Do you think that there is anything which might make them embarrased? Or, do they have a sense of humour, and see certain things as funny? Our dog used go and hide his head if a guest of ours made too much fuss of him and I would swear that he was shy or embarrased. What do you think?

I guess its a matter of perspective... which is most embarrasing for them - poo-ing in public or being dressed up in designer doggy-clothes. I think I'd go and hide if someone came to my house and started stroking and patting me....

I think dogs are a lot more sensitive, than we give them credit for! Just last nite, my newer dog "Brew" (have had 6 months) was asleep on the deck! I went into the house, did a few things, and made a noise, he came running into the house barking, and then when he realized it was me...he got the silliest look on his face, buried his head, and acted very coy! Made me laugh! Dogs have 17 scent glands around their an*s....and those glands give off many different aromas...that will tell other dog's many things about them! That is the reason dogs, when meeting go there first!
