Where do you usually download your anime?

naruto and sasuke - From the anime Naruto. The picture shows Naruto, the leading character of the show, and Sasuke, Naruto's bestfriend and rival.

I'm having problems with downloading, it takes me a lot of time searching for a site that offers free download of the anime I want. I prefer downloading over streaming because I want to have a copy of the show so I could share it with my siblings and friends. So, can anyone suggest where I could download animes? A site that's free with lots of animes offered, and possibly doesn't need registration?

hi swirlz! i usually download my anime at crunchyroll.com. i know, i know, it is a streaming site that doesn't allow download but i have a realplayer so i can download any videos from any video streaming sites. i also downloaded veoh tv which i also use in downloading videos from veoh.com. i know how hard it is to search for free animes. sometimes i won't find the anime i want in crunchy and veoh so i would have to search for it all over the net. its hard especially if the anime i'm looking for is not that popular. but it is less difficult now than before when i still didn't have a realplayer since i've got more options. not only the direct download but also the streaming sites. what are you currently watching right now?

I'm currenrtly watching Tsubasa Chronicle, but a friend already lent me a DVD so I don't need to download it. What I'm searching for right now is Weiss Kreuz. I can't find it anywhere. You're right, the less than popular animes are difficult to find. I've been all over the net. Anyway, I already have Veoh, I used it to download My Boss My Hero. I didn't know you could download anime from there too. I'll try it. I'll also try and download Realplayer. I guess I didn't have too much problems finding download sites before, because it was mostly Naruto I've watched. Thank you so much for your suggestions secretbear!

haha! there is one in www.isohunt.com it was subbed by animefiend. it was not difficult to find it. you can find animes in isohunt as long as it was subbed or they released the RAW. ahmmm....some videos need decoding so i think you install codec on your pc. this is free. try this one. www.freecodec.com

you're welcome swirlz. i downloaded some Bleach and Prince of Tennis episodes in Veoh Tv. when you have the realplayer, you can download almost anything from streaming sites. ^__~ i tried isohunt before pucca-chan. most of the series i wanted needed to be decoded, as you have said. and i was impatient so i looked for other sites where i can download what i wanted.

Thanks. I have been using torrents now. Even though I hated torrents when I initially started using it because it downloads so slow, now I realized that it's worth the wait because I can assure great quality videos.

personally, I go onto Veoh, look for the best quality anime I can, and download it. A few of my friends use good sites like anima.net. They are good providers... I get some good quality stuff from veoh.

hehe! first i don't download in streaming sites. the quality sucks. even for Veoh! ( no offense for those who dl in streaming sites) I prefer Torrent. the quality is superb and very much available since i don't buy dvd because im so freakin' poor. hehe!! I really suggest www.isohunt.com.... you can find almost anything there. from games, videos, and anything!! promise. just install a magnet holder for your torrent and you can start downloading! uTorrent is good. hmmmm...you can find all subbed animes there. ( i did find it for you because i usually download RAW so i don't know about subbed). guess this helps. and oh, subbing group release their work in torrent so torrent has more advantage than in streaming site and you have to wait for someone to upload it.

Thanks! This has been really helpful. I have uTorrent because it was suggested by a friend, but I had difficulty finding what I want in torrentz.com. That was the site he suggested, so I went there, and had some difficulty. There were seeds and peers, and stuff I don't understand. That was why I was discouraged in using it. Thank you so much for your suggestion. I'll definitely try this one. And I'm grateful that you went so far to finding out if there were subed animes there.

I don't download anime because I only buy the DVD of those anime. I wanted it to be kinda... 'instant' where you wouldn't have to download multiple things just to watch the anime. Plus, they may also contain viruses that can harm your computer system. If ever I don't have a DVD of the anime I wanted to watch, I'll just visit a site... say for example... crunchyroll.com or youtube.com . That way, I don't have to do anything besides to wait for it to be downloaded completely. I hope I helped! And also, I don't recommend watching over the streamers because they usually cut some parts that can be important to understand the anime.

But isn't crunchyroll and youtube streamsites? Anyway, I used to buy DVDs but I always had problems with the subtitles. The grammar is so off that sometimes I don't understand the whole conversation. And there was even one anime where the second CD is in Chinese and the subtitles in Japanese. Not to mention that the CDs getting easily scratched or something because sometimes I can't play it anymore. I feel like I've wasted my money. It's like taking risks when I buy DVDs (pirated ones). As for streaming, I really wanted to keep a file of the videos, then burn it, so I could watch it again, and share them with my siblings and friends.

I would suggest you use a bittorrent client and all that. If you decide to do so, you can find most anime on tokyotosho.com.. and there are so many more sites out there. But since it seems to me like you would rather do with http downloads, you can try anime-sensei.net. Those are mostly rmvb downloads though, via free filehosting sites like megaupload or rapidshare. Anime-sensei doesn't require registration. However, since I read you're looking for Weiss Kreuz, you should go to zone-anime.com... It requires you to register, but it's free. All the downloads are via megaupload, though. Still, if you want to try out bittorrent that would be way better. You'd get better quality anime too, in terms of video quality. You could also try downloading anime off IRC.
