hi friends i was just thinking we all come from various parts of this planet...we all eat food...so i was generally curious to know what do you cook and eat...like in breakfast we have a choice of Egg/ Bread/ Oats/Corn Flakes/Porridge/stuffed Parathas (we roll out flat cirlcles of wheat dough on a rolling pin and stuff with boil potato or cheese or some grated mixed vegetables and apply little oil and cook in a flat pan)...lunch it is rice or Chappati (roll out flat cirlcles of wheat dough on a rolling pin and dry grill it and it fluffs up on the stove) vegetable cooked with onion and tomatoes and pulses are made in gravy form in a pressure cooker so that food is not very dry, curd and....dinner also has a pulse, chappati or roti, vegetable, curd and salad..on weekends and maybe middle of the week i make chicken or prawn curry and fish fry is there almost every alternate day in dinner.....what do your meals comprise off?...what is your breakfast, lunch and dinner normally?

A typical Filipino food always includes rice in every meal. I mean, the meal won't be complete if we don't have rice in our meal. There are varieties of food that we eat as well. In our family, typical breakfast would be fried rice, fried egg, hotdog, "tuyo or daing". There is also "pandesal" or bread with coffee as well. During lunch, it all depends on what we want. Viands could be "chicken or pork adobo", tilapia, a kind of fish, of course that's all serve with rice...Same goes during dinner time...we have varieties of viands to choose from.

Because of the Asian influx in to Britain, rice has now become a savoury dish. Only over the last 50 years or so has rice become something other than boiled in milk and sugar and is much better as a result

Hi neetu.. Hey u already know that i live away from home, so no wonders that u would be surprised to hear about my meals. Moreover, I am in Southern part of India where the food and spices are completely different from north india.. Here you would mostly find idlis and vadas. Infact every north indian food with a touch of south indian taste..
Though i prefer to eat in my office campus, but still, i am restricted to a limited number of choices. Oh ya, i forgot to tell you that i don't know cooking. I can only prepare maggi and that i would be too lazy at times to prepare..
My breakfast. i get a choice of vadas, idlis, veg sandwich, poha, and chhole bhatura which i keep rotating in the weekdays. I have a cup of tea along side..
My lunch, then too a limited number of notth indian dishes including rajma and paneer and chhole and alu... and same in dinner.
i have been away from home for more than 7 years, so food cooked by mom..thats one thing i miss the most..

Cereal or egg whites for breakfast, sometimes a bagel or a frozen dinner. Lunch can be a sandwich or another frozen diet dinner or a salad. Supper, anything that's handy and half the time it's leftovers from other meals!
Funny thing is, in one part of the country dinner is the evening meal but down south the evening meal is supper and lunch is called dinner. In the north, dinner is evening and lunch is lunch.

My breakfast consists of a cup of coffee, my lunch is different all the time it depends what day I am on, usually on a Monday and Thursday I will have a bacon sandwich and the rest of the week an apple, and for my dinner usually a sandwich and an apple. Twice a week I treat myself to a bar of choccie. I do not have a huge appetite and so do not eat much.

I love to cook and to try stuff from all over the world, so if I listed everything that I have been known to cook it would take all day. So I'll list a few of the families favorites...
Breakfast-
Golden rod which is boiled eggs separated in to whites and yolks I add the finely diced whites to a white sauce then pour over the top of ripped up biscuits. then I sprinkles the yolks over the top as well as diced tomatoes and green onions.
Then we have the usual stuff cereal, pancakes, waffles,or eggs and bacon or sausage. Also every one loves it when I make muffins.
Lunch-
We usually keep lunch simple. Sandwiches, or hot dogs, or a chef salad. That sort of thing.
Dinner-
We eat a lot of Sheppard's pie. This is a layered dish made up of seasoned ground beef for one layer, mashed potatoes, and a layer of corn and green beans. This is one I use because I can feed my family of 7 for less then $10 and still have left overs. We also do lasagna, tacos, mole chicken, bbq chicken or ribs, fried chicken, tuna casserole ( that's another cheap and easy one. Boil a box of elbow noodles, drain and add a family size can of cream of mushroom soup, 3 cans of drained tuna, a drained can of peas, then top with sliced cheese and put under the broiler until the cheese melts. $5 and feeds our whole family). The list goes on but I don't want to bore you guys. Needless to say I have a lot of things I cook and am always looking for new recipes.
Thanks for the topic. I'll be reading the other posts for ideas and recipes.

I'm bad about breakfast but insisted my kids eat it. That would be cereal, hot or cold and juice OR eggs with cheese, bacon, and toast. Lunch usually a cold cuts sandwich or leftovers from dinner. I almost always cook dinner. A common dinner would be beef, bean, and cheese burritos, rice with peas, and some salad. My family loves tex-mex food.

I usually don't have one main thing for each time of the day, it just depends on if I have time and what I feel like eating. I will tell what I usually like to cook. We have a very big garden here at home, so I can make a lot of food out of what is available. In the garden we have watermelon, cantaloupe, beans, squash, A LOT of tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, and hot peppers. So I can usually do something with that stuff everyday. It's a lot of fun to create the dishes from the garden. I eat a lot of sandwiches, eggs, and pastas. The main foods we make in my home are of German decent, and I have a lot of fun with Asian foods.

I have egg, bread, butter, jam and milk in the morning. Roti, sabzi , dal , curd and salad in lunch and dinner. Sometimes instead of roti i like to have parantha but generally i try to avoid it as it is not good for health. Apart from that i also like to have fruits after lunch and sweet dish like gulab jamun or chocolates after dinner.

i dont always eat breakfast, i know i should because it is the most important meal of the day.. I get up and like a coffee and just can not face food.. But i suppose later morning id just have slice of toast or couple of crumpets as they are light..
If getting into a real healthy mood, in the summer months i enjoy boiled eggs for breakfast or close on lunch..
But normally my breakfast consist of couple of cups of coffee
