While visiting my hometown last weekend I got to see the hundreds of wind turbines that are located on the Buffalo Ridge in Western Minnesota. Since the last time I had visited the area they have put up soooo many! I think it's a very good way to capture mother natures forces and put them to good use. I have heard that it's expensive though but a good alternative to using other sources for electricity. I am all for using new alternatives for our needs for electricity. How about you. Have you ever seen the wind turbines?

Hey, those wind turbines sound very cool! I haven't seen them "in real life", only on TV. But, alternative sources of power are much needed today. I bet that was quite a sight! Thanks for telling us about them.

When you see a bunch of the wind turbines together they are weird looking. The first time my daughter saw some near Palm Springs, Calfornia she said they looked like an alien colony had landed on earth! Ha.. We have also seen them in the Bay Area just outside Livermore. I didn't realize they were expensive to operate...maybe they are expensive to repair...cuz I have seen alot that appear to be broken down.

Or turned off....they only allocate so much of our energy to come from wind which is a shame!

There are windmills located in California. Its a very expensive source for electricity; however, we do need to find other solutions to avoid more power outages. There are commercials informing us to turn off the lights when we aren't using them.

Its amazing that once upon a time when I was a little girl on the farm we had windmills then and used them for a source of power.....now it's so expensive. I wonder what happened? I don't have alot of lights on anyway....and I don't even run the tv when I am not in the room....we really need to work on an alternative for what we have now!

I really like them, they are pretty neat. did you get to go up close to them? there are a few here that sit right next to a road so you can get out and see just how big they really are.

I have never seen them in person but I think they're a good idea and I wish they would do something like that here in Florida. We have a lot of wind because we're a very flat state with oceans on either side so I think making use of that technology would work here.

That would make sense for them to put them up in Florida!
