no it does not cause it but if you have it it will cause spikes in blood sugar and that you do not want at all. high blood sugar effects many orans in the body. if u must have rice use whole grain and brown rice .. 1/4 of a cup is 40 carbs and 60 is allowed per meal. good luck

Eating white rice will not increase your chance of getting diabetes. In fact, when you're diabetic there is no difference on the glycemic index between white and brown rice. Both are perfectly fine to eat as they both take a long time to be broken down.
I'm a type 2 diabetic and I've been through classes provided by a local hospital on how to manage my diabetes. The classes included meeting with dieticians who went over in great detail what we could and could not eat. I just about fell out of my chair when they said there was no difference between white and brown rice.

I dont think so. Many asians eat rice and there aren not too many asian diabetes sufferers. Rice is a simple starch though and probably over eating it is not a good idea. I think brown rice is a better choice before it takes longer to digest and adds more fiber to your meal. That is my suggestion anyway.

according to science we all need carb (found in rice) intake even ti those people who have diabetes..but the thins is you should be aware on how much carb you need in a meal..proper intake of carb helps the stability of blood sugar level too much of everything is not good ayt? that goes with the carb and diabetes issue..
