How we know our computer infected by virus? How if our pc dont have antivirus?

I have no idea that how's a pc infected by virus? How dangerous it was? What symptoms show that your pc infected? I can see hidden files, izzit my pc infected by virus? HOw if my pc dont have antivirus? How possible it would be happen? Please share your antivirus?

Piece of advise, DON'T EVER surf the net without an anti-virus installed in your pc. Try using Kaspersky Internet Security 7 for safer internet surfing and please don't use IE browsers cause you will be more prone to viruses, try using Firefox 3.

Type in Norton Online Scan in your search bar. Go there and allow it to scan your PC and see if you have been infected.
Your PC should not be on the Internet without some kind of virus protection.
