I learned many study tips when I was in college so let me share some of them with you. Don't stick to only one style of learning when you're studying, like reading the material again and again. Jot down notes from the material and organize them in various ways. Read out loud so that you can hear the material. Get up and walk around while reading, moving around will help to make you feel less sleepy. Have someone quiz you on the material. This will show you what you already know so you don't have to waste time studying that anymore. As far as history and dates goes, try to make up little rhymes to help you to remember them. I hope this helps.

If you are doing poorly in a class, then you simply need to suck it up and look over the information. I hate studying, so I try to avoid it as much as I can. I try to commit as much information to memory as I can when it is first presented to me. For instance, while we are writing notes in class, I like to absorb as much as I can as I am writing it, and then I can just look over it later without having to really study it. And, if you can, try to turn it into something fun. Or, reward yourself at the end of it, to give you something to look forward to.
