My son is four right now and just getting into superheroes. It is fun. He loves to watch Batman, Spider-man, Superman, and the Icredible Hulk cartoons. He really wanted to see The Dark Knight but I hear from many that he may be too young.

I haven't seen the latest Batman film (I live in England and it's not quite out yet) but I must be honest and say that having seen the trailers I would not be comfortable with any of my kids watching it just yet and they are 3, 5 and 7! What have they rated the Batman movie do you know?

I'm saving my vote until Watchmen comes out shortly; it looks to be one of the few movies which actually gives a damn about the tone and look of the original comic book.

It's possible you're too young to remember (It was published in the 1980s), or not a hardcore comics fan. Anyone who's followed them for a while will have come across it, though. Written by Alan Moore, who's perhaps THE writer when it comes to comics, then and now, and drawn by Dave Gibbons (too many comics to list, but he's worked on the big names like Batman and Superman for years), it ran for 12 issues, and redefined the whole idea of superheroes and how we look at them, and even how we approach comics. The whole thing was practically drawn like a movie to start with; mostly 9-panel pages from the same angles, like you were watching a screen, and 'cutscenes'.
I'd seriously recommend to anyone to pick up the collected graphic novel and read it. Like say, Sandman, it's one of those stories that take comics from being something for kids to an artform.

I was born in 1976 but don't remember it. I might have to check it out and read some of the issues. Thanks for the insight

I am so wanting to see it. My four year old wants to see it. Any thoughts on that? Think he is too young? Think it might be too dark and scary for him?
Anyways, one more for the BAT...

I would have to say that its a tie between Spiderman and Batman because Spiderman did not ask to be a superhero he got bitten by the radioactive spider on accident and then he decided to use his powers for good, and Batman because Batman always knew how to strike fear into the criminals and everyone feared the name Batman and Batman had an awesome Batmobile.
