My Keyboard Is Crossed Up

My keyboard has somehow gained a mind of it's own and is doing whatever it chooses to do. I do not know if it is a virus or what. For instance, if I press shift. It reacts as if I pressed backspace. How is this fixed?

It might be time to get a new keyboard my friend. Too much snacking and drinking on the keyboard - could be some chocolate or snacks or spilt soda in the keyboard causing it to go all funny hehe

Awwww sounds like it's more than just the keyboard! I hope you don't have a computer virus or something - I hope you get it fixed soon :)

I have spent countless hours attempting to figure out the problem. I do not believe that it is a virus, so I went ahead and ordered a new keyboard.

I wish I could be sure that the keyboard is the only problem. I have the hardest time here on Mylot. Earlier today, I was responding to one of your discussion and the page simply disappeared. I never did find it.

There might be a hardware problem too... May be the circuit got damaged due to exposure to any kind of heat or any liquid.. Borrow a friend's keyboard and test once..

I think that you might be right about the water damage. Can I simply replace the keyboard or do I need an entire new computer.

I can afford a keyboard. I do not believe that I can afford an entire new computer at this time, but it would be nice. Thank you for your advice.

i had that happened to my laptop when my sister left it near the window and left the screen opened. it was raining so the keyboard was damaged. i had to send it to the shop to be fixed in your case you can simply get a new keyboard and plug it in. no need to change the whole computer (but considering that your computer is old it's not really a bad idea)

I pray that it is only the keyboard myself. I went on and ordered a new one today. Everything else seems to be working fine.

have you tried using other keyboard?. You have to understand that virus can't attack the hardware, they only infect the software of your PC

Is it wireless? If so disable/uninstall, shut down, power cycle your computer, restart and reinstall/enable.
