I am in central Kansas. We used to be slow to drop, which I found ironic, as we have a refinery here. I was surprised we dropped so quickly.

Wow!! Lucky you! No, our gas prices haven't fallen at all. We're still above $4.00 a gallon. I wish they'd get busy and work on getting the prices lower. This has been such a hardship for so many people! My son-in-law puts $50 in every 2 days, just to go to work. I hope ours falls too (am keepin my fingers crossed here lol)

I am sorry he has to commute so far. I would hate that. The only driving job I have pays me time and mileage.

Gas prices (barrel of oil) has gone from over $145 to a close of $128.50... the largest drop in one week since 2003. And what do we see at the pump... a 1-2¢ change in gas prices. Yes I have seen some gas stations that were overpriced go lower but overall the gas prices themselves as a whole have actually risen.
In the metro Orlando area the average price of gas...
Today -- 3.971
Yesterday -- 3.992
One Week Ago -- 3.998
One Month Ago -- 3.943
One Year Ago -- 2.895
* Source: orlandogasprices.com
I also just took the time to look at the futures market and it's around $135/barrel which means gas should be well down not just a couple cents!
Thanks
Zelo

Just checked the local gas station as I was coming home and they are still sitting firm at $4.05... looking at oil right now (trading overseas) and it is still below $130/barrel at $129.57 right now up 69¢. Not much to sneeze at. Trading won't really go crazy until it hits the us market. I was really suprised oil didn't go up on Friday and it looks like it may just stay steady on Monday though there has been a little tension with Iran lately.
I am also wondering what the trip of Obama's is going to play in the price of oil... about 20% of the fluctuation is speculators so they are trading up/down on anything they hear. So far all seems quiet there and that is good.
The dollar seems to be starting the day very slightly stronger against the YEN which is always a good sign.
As for orlandogasprices.com today gas ROSE .001 to 3.993 from 3.992 yesterday. The gas prices go up so fast and take so long to come back down... uugghhh....
Thanks
Zelo

Thanks for the BR.
As I keep looking... the price of oil is starting to fluctuate and I am going to have to unfortunately stand firm on the $135 estimate that I put on the barrel of oil.
The prices at the pump are SLOWLY declining as I see that there are some stations dropping prices as much as 30¢/gallon... very nice... hopefully this trend will continue.
Thanks
Zelo

This is on the 26th of this month. Yesterday on the news one of the main topics was the gas prices have dropped ten cent. It has gone down to $3.66 a gallon and plenty of the customers were happy about that. They ones that they interview for the news broadcast. I don't think that it was at $4.00 in my area but it was just a few cents off. So right now that is a good thing. I hope they go down some more. The were saying that it would be down to $3.50 a gallon by Labor Day. Have A good one.

Where do you live? I'm in Maryland and the gas is still pretty high here.
I pay about $4.15 a gallon for mid-grade. I have seen gas around here for premium for over $4.40! The cheapest around here is probably right around $4.00 -- give or take a few pennies. I really wish gas prices would drop a bit!

By the way, I shop at a grocery store that gives Gas Points and so far I am up to 20 cents off per gallon. I can keep collecting points until Aug. 8th.
So right now I could get gas for 3.79 but I'm going to wait and see how much lower I can get it.

Things went the other way around here. The govenment already issued or approved the request of the public utility drivers and operators to increase the fares by 2 pesos. That was last week. But during the weekend, gasoline stations add another burden to the people, especially the motorists, the drivers of these jeepneys and buses. Another oil price increase made by these fuel distributors, and guess what, the increase averages to 3 pesos per liter. And that was above the fare increase ther government approves. Drivers are still on the losing side, and so as the people in general. KEEP SMILING = NEIL

Nothing happening here yet in South Louisiana, but I read somewhere (cant remember where) that they are supposed to be implementing a new tax on gas that is supposed to help pay for road care. With gas prices this high and rising, they wont need that tax cause no one will be able to afford to drive!

I don't gas up too often and when I do I always hit Sams club. They were $3.88 on Friday. I know that gas prices should be coming down significantly since the barrel plummeted.
That's good news for our electric bills too!

Most of the gas stations around here were at $3.99 and $3.97 for a few weeks. It's like the didn't want to go over that $4.00 mark. Then we went on vacation and when we came back it was down to $3.95 at most stations. We were excited about that! I'm hoping that it keeps going down a bit because I really hate paying so much for gas...

As of today, July 26, most of the gas stations in our town are at: $3.599 per gallon. We shop at a grocery store that if you spend $100.00 in the month, you get a coupon good for 10 cents off per gallon of gas. We have already earned two of those coupons. That would bring the effective price down to $3.499 per gallon at current prices. I can deal with that. We live in central Kansas, and do our grocery shopping at Dillon's, which is part of the Kroger Company. I expect that Kroger might do something similar in other parts of the country. Good luck.

Yeah, it happened here too. We were on a trip for the weekend and got our gas at $1.36 per liter. Thankfully we didn't fill it up, because that was the price in the morning and in the afternoon, half way to our destination we were able to fill up the tank at 1.21 per litre. I know in the end it's not like we saved a million bucks, but it was nice.
The bad news is that today it was back to the first price again LOL

I noticed this weekend that our gas prices have dropped about 10 cents a gallon also. We are still below $4.00 a gallon. Right now it is running about $3.77. I sure hope it will keep going down. My husband said that even if it does start dropping more that we don't need to go out and start traveling more, that we still need to conserve. I agree with him on this because they could turn around and start hiking the prices right back up again.
