The end is near, true. But when, nobody really knows. What do I think? I think of preparing myself so when the time comes... I'm not caught off-guard...

Well, the earth is here long before we are, and these calamities are 'natural' and I think we can't do anything but understand how it works and maybe precautions and safety measures will be developed that will lessen if not eliminate human casualties...

sorry my friend but what i dont understand is how can one prepare against a natural calamity of gigantic proportions.what can you or anyone else for that matter do if a huge tsunami hits or a earthquake hits or volcano or the world is falling apart.all those are big ones but what if the ozone layer depletes and we are left unprotected. i know humans might come up with something but what can you do to challenge nature itself.

The way human population is increasing, pollution is increasing and moral values are deteriorating, the end seems to be quite near.

Define 'near'. The Sun is due to change sequence in about 5.5 billion years, which'll pretty much destroy the whole planet. Cosmologically speaking, that's not very far off, but it doesn't keep me awake at night.
