Why not right?. I mean if that person you've chatted for a while is ok then go for it. You get to know the person well when you're with them. I mean, you spend time together is really one of the best way to get to know each other better. Goodluck with your search pal. Hope you'll meet the girl of your dreams soon. More power ! ;)

I think it's perfectly fine to date someone you met off the internet! I have met several people off the internet and while I never ended up dating any of them, I have made GREAT friends, and my friend Marianne has actually been dating an internet friend for 5 years now! It's very fun to meet new people that you get to know first before you meet them.

There is nothing wrong in dating someone you met online. We are aware of the role of Internet Relay Chat (IRC) in the formation of interpersonal attraction and romantic relationships. There are two stages in this formation - the initiation by introducing one self to each other and sustaining this interaction. Meeting your chat mate in person and dating her falls in the second stage. But what happened in the chat room is more physical than emotional. You chose the person to date with based on physical cues like pictures.
That is why you were disappointed when you finally with her in person, she did not meet your quality or character standards. I am also doing that, and only few had worked out. Some remained as friends, some were totally disappeared. Don't worry, melo. You can find the right girl for you. Good luck!

Well I have dated someone that I met online before. But it didn't work at. Because we couldn't touch each other and things just didn't work out.
