Your garden and lawn doesn't really need all the watering some people around here put on it. That's the first place to conserve water. Gather rain water to use for that purpose, too, and water you used for cooking. Take short showers. The car doesn't really need to be washed weekly.... Lot's of things can be done to conserve water. You just have to look around and see what you personally can do to cut down on usage.

Yes I guess there is a water shortage in many places as here in Melbourne, I don't water my garden any more unless I salvage some grey water as they call it, I do try and collect any water by having buckets under all taps, I guess we all have to try a little.
