Do You Dream about what would life be like if only you had done?

I am 63. When I was 20 I went to California (I live in MI). I thought really hard about staying there; but, came back here instead. I often wonder what my life would have been like if I had stayed. There are so many paths in our lives that we choose not to follow. I find it kind of interesting to think about what things could have been like. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't change my life or family for anything. I'm just a "dreamer" at times.

Glad I came across your discussion so that I can tell you that you can still have part of the California Dream in your life.
There are, in San Diego alone, about 4000 homeless children and teens.
I'm from Anderson, Indiana, but I'm part of the California Dream, and you can be, too!
Not just California but wherever needed, even though our founder and chairman, Russell T. Hartsaw currently lives in San Diego and is doing everything he can to make sure that we open a residential and resource center there a.s.a.p. with plans to open them wherever needed throughout the United States (for starters).
But that isn't the extent of our mission, because we have all kinds of things going to reach out to homeless and/or at-risk children, teens, and young adults.

Hope you like it!
One thing that we're going to be doing is to encourage older people to do some kinds of volunteer work.
Russell and I are no spring chickens ourselves. I'm 55 and he's 67.
But there are retirees out there looking for ways to help people in need, and we have lots of opportunities for them, among them doing mentoring, making single-person quilts for these young people, doing craft-sales and yard-sales to raise funds, and the sky's the limit!
Anyway, I find being a part of IYN as really exciting--and I would feel the same way even if I didn't have a crush at least as big as Texas and Alaska combined on Russell! LOL

Every once in a while when my life is not going good. I dream about what my life would be like now if I had not dated the guys I did way back in school and married the man I did 2 years ago and divorced last year and had a baby 4 years ago. I sometimes think I messed up my future when i did those things and wish I could take them back and waited on dating when I was younger and didn't have a baby from my boyfriend who I didn't marry because I realized 5 months later I didn't love him and couldn't marry him. So yeah you could say sometimes I am a dreamer. I am trying to except my present and let go of my past mistakes. I know I love my 4 year old son I have now and its hard to think about what would my life be like now without him. I just wished I hadn't got pregnant out of marriage. I tell myself never again. next time I will be married.

I understand that Lizzy. There are things I did when I was young that I wish I hadn't; but, have learned to just accept my life as it is because I sure can't go back and change it.

I have things I did when I was young that I wish I hadn't; but, have learned to accept them since I can't change them. We just have to keep moving forward. I do understand what you mean though.
