I agree with Sergeantrom. I haven't written for Helium, but I have written for Associated Content. It depends on the type of writing you want to do . Associated Content is a great way to get paid for more journalistic type articles that are informative. You can also do photo slideshows, too. I think they pay pretty good, too, and will even pay you upfront. Squidoo will pay you, a tiny bit, for setting up a few pages on their site, too. Gather will pay you in points that you can redeem for gift cards.

Will you please send me your link, so that I could see your articles.

You may try the following site, which pay you, if you post your original articles and write-ups"
(i) Associated Contents;
(ii) Helium;
(iii) Ibibo
(iv) Informative Post.
I have been writing on Associated Contents and I have received payments also, it depends on the fact that how many people read your articles, you are paid accordingly in Associated Contents.
You may check my article by visiting my website in my profile page.

Here is the sites definition. You really need tons of people looking at your page to earn here from what I gather. If you really love to write and can get the traffic, it pays off!
What are Performance Payments?
Performance Payments allow you to earn unlimited cash from your text, video, slideshow and audio submissions long after they have been published. You earn money for every thousand page views your content generates (PPM™ rate). The baseline PPM™ rate is currently $1.50 - meaning if you generate 30,000 page views, you’re paid $45.00 in Performance Payments. The more content you submit and more page views it generates, the higher your PPM™ rate gets. Learn more here. Visit the My Account tab to see your current estimated earnings and track your page view statistics per piece of content from the My Content sub-tab (accessible from the My Account tab).

There are many. Triond, Article Alley, EZine.
I work with a guy who finds the people who need the writing then gives me the assignments. Of course he gets a cut. But I always get paid and never get scammed.

The only one I can think of is gather.com but you have to earn 3,000 points a month, and you have o be an American. AARRGGHH!!!! As a Canadian I'm scratching my head over this one too. It seems like Amerians have all he advantages.

Hi,
Another good site is eHow, where you write short articles in a "How to" format. I'm also a member of Helium and AssociatedContent.
Helium pays in a few different ways. They have contests in which you can compete against others, as well as Marketplace topics, where your article could be chosen by a publisher. Both the contests and Marketplace items lists the amounts that each one pays if you win, or your article is chosen by a publisher. Your articles are rated by other members. Your articles still earn money for page views as well.
There's also Suite101 to check out.
I hope these help.

i think you can make your hobby as money by writing to surveys which pay you to tell your opinion on their products.
