Hi all, here is a brain teaser I really like:
A king sent a spy to his enemy castle but since the castle is protected by guards the spy is looking for a way to sneak inside.
When he is approaching the main door he notices that a knight is coming and so he runs away hiding in a place he was still able to hear the conversation.
As soon as the knight asks for access into the castle a guard starts talking and this is what they said:
Guard: Six
Knight: Three
And the guard opens the door.
The spy is wondering if it could be so easy but soon he can listen another knight asking for access. And here is the second conversation:
Guard: Twelve
2nd Knight: Six
And the door is opened.
The spy is now sure he got the trick and the day after he is in front of the door in a beautiful knight camouflage. The guard asks "Eight" and the spy proudly says "Four!". Suddenly the door is opened but instead of letting him go inside two guards rush outside and kill the spy.
What should have been the correct answer?

The answer would be five, for the number of letters in the word "eight".
I LOVE those things, post another! :-)

9 the answers keep increasing by 3. the guards question means nothing all that matters is how many knights have gone before you. because the knights were so close to each other they could have easily heard what the other one was saying
