whenever i first got on mylot i read all of the rules and what other people were saying and doing and i was rating people and it really seemed to help them...i did that for quiet awhile, and then i got to where i was noticing i wasn't doing it as much as i use to...but now i am back where i do it everytimes someone responds to mine whether or not i comment to their answer...i always just rate positive because all of the people really try and help me so i am going to try and help them at the same time by rating them very positively...so do you rate people still or have you found yourself not really rating as much as you use to? and what makes you rate them positive...like do you do it if you see that they really tried to help you with your problem or give you their advice....what makes you rate them badly as well...thanks for reading my discussion!

hmm, I just read what you wrote and I now I have an idea what the stars are for. So maybe it is the rate you get from people? I have not rate anyone yet. But now I have an idea what the plus and the minus are for. Thanks to you. And so I will rate you as my first.

I started out like you, rating everything and then I slacked off for awhile but I'm trying to be consistant and to do it as often as possible.

I seem to get into moods or something where I go through periods that I rate all of the discussions I respond to, and then I go through stages where I just don't bother. So I guess it depends on my mood. Today I have been rating all of the discussions I have responded to and I have rated all of the comments I have recieved on my responses. I have only started one discussion today and I have only recieved one response to it and it was too short for me to rate it. I only rate the ones that deserve a rating, the ones that put some thought into their response, not just a line or two of nothing much.
I don't think the rating system is very important anyways as I don't even look at what rating a person has when I respond to their discussion. I don't even see their rating till after I post my response because I respond from my emails and then it doesn't show. So most of the time after I post my response I don't bother to scroll up the page to see what the star rating is because it just isn't important to me.

I must admit that I am guilty of forgetting to rate quite often. I try to do it every time, but often get so busy with the reading and responding that I tend to forget to do it. You brought out the guilt in me so I rated you positive before responding. lol

Yes I am in the habit of rating every discussion I read, take part in and start. I automatically rate responses as I read them. Only sometimes will I leave one unrated if it is only four or five words long, or if it is off-topic.
Now I do it without thinking and I'm sure it helps everyone a little. As myLot pays us for participation it may do me some good too.

Hi. I always rate discussions and responses. All positive. I just haven't find any discussions or responses that are negative.
