lay around when they get older...i have a cat that we have had in the house ever since it was old enough for us to have...and use to it would play all of the time and attack your feet whenever you walked by and then just sometimes sleep and all it seems that it does now(hes like 4 years old)and all he wants to do is just lay around, eat and use the bathroom he never really wants to play anymore and we have had cats before and they all do this once they get so old and i was just wondering if anyone knew why they did this and if all of your cats do this as well....thanks for reading my discussion and hopefully you will respond!

we've had many cats and once they grow out of being a kitten not too much later they don't have the same energy. i have had ferrets for years and ferrets are like kittens for most of their life.

Sometimes older cats have health issues with their eyes, teeth or stomach or liver. You might want to have your cat checked out by the vet. Other than that, an older cat just isn't into playing a lot.
