Human Hair Extensions - Would you sell or buy your hair?

I saw this documentary earlier today about the selling of human hair for extensions and weaves and it was based on this practice in a certain country where people sacrifice their hair to the temples when they shave it off and the temples sell the hair to manufacturers of these extensions and weaves. The temples actually give back to the communities by feeding the poor and homeless so this is a plus It also featured other ways in which this human hair is obtained, some locals picking it up from the bins and 'recycling' it and apparently there's other ways that the documentary didn't delve into much. It was quite a shocking documentary as one had always wondered if those human hair extensions where indeed human hair so it was interesting seeing first hand where it comes from and how it is actually a business for many to collect it I do not wear and have never had to wear extensions but if you do or have heard of them, have you ever really wondered where that human hair comes from? What do you think of this? If you needed extensions, would you buy human hair and be comfortable wearing someone else's hair or go for more synthetic products?
