I have two favorite quotes, one is "I was part of that strange race of people aptly described as spending their lives doing things they detest to make money they don't want to buy things they don't need to impress people they dislike." by Emile Henry Gauvreay. In my interpretation, it means doing something you don't like to buy things that aren't necessary to impress people that aren't important to them. It's a fancy way of saying struggling to keep up with the Jones. I resolve to never be this person. I'd rather be slightly poor but happy. My second favorite quote is from the Bible. Macah 6:8 "I have told you, o man, what is good. You're only duty is to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with god." I may be paraphrasing here, but that's the quote to the best that I remember it.
