We debated it when my wife was pregnant with our daughter. Fortunately, our daughter made the choice for us and made it impossible to tell in her ultrasound.

first of all ultrasounds are for more than just checking the gender of the baby.. but yeah with both our boys we wanted to know what we were having. although you cant always rely on what the ultra sound says.. there have been cases where the doc has been wrong and its a big old surprise when your all ready for a boy and out pops a girl..
with that said, with our first son we were told he was going to be a boy and sure enough we had a boy.
with our youngest son we went to find out and the lil stink'r turned so we couldnt see.. yep we couldnt find out. because he was way past due, i had ultra sounds every visit after his due date so we got to finally see he was going to be a boy.. and of course he was.

with 4 kids I never wanted to know. I wanted the excitment to be at the moment of birth. I always bought clothes for both genders. Even having 3 girls I still wanted the 4th to be a suprise. I think it adds to the bonding process. And you never know when the ultrasound will be wrong. It has happened before!
