i heard on the radio that only 65% of canadians have a cell phone; a whopping 90% of americans have cells phones and 96% of all britts have a cell phone. do you find this surprising at all? i do!

Im not surprised that most people have a cell phone. everyone in my household has a phone. Even my grandma, who is technologically challenged, has a prepaid phone at least.

No, I don't find it surprising in the least. I own a cell phone, but its prepaid and I'm at my wits end when I run out of minutes. I'd say you are hard pressed here in the United States to be able to find a pay phone anymore, because the majority of people do carry a cell phone. Its a matter of convenience obviously.

Hmm, cher913, I was unaware of these statistics. They are pretty interesting, aren't they? Guess the Brits are ahead of us in these statistics, only 4% of them do not have a cell phone. Maybe the prices there are cheaper.

I tried anwering this before, but mylot cut me off. Hope it makes it this time. I think statistics are always skewed. It's not like they can actually interview everyone. They just take a survey of like a thousand people, and then apply it like that is a good pool to get the results from. I'm American, 27, and have never own a cell phone. I don't plan on it either. Maybe someday if I have kids, or work across town at night, but I don't even want one right now.

The canadian numbers sound logic to me. The american and british sound too high. 96% is a very high number. I mean there must be quite a few senior citizens with no cell phone. What age brackets did they look at - do you know?

My husband and I both of cell phones. I am planning on getting my son one for Christmas it is so nice to be able to get ahole of your family when you need to. My husband calls me when he is going to be late so I don't have to worry that he was in an accident or something it is really nice to have them.

Every member of my family has a phone. We call each other when don't meet.Sometimes we can also take pictures with the phone. Now I am even considering buying my little sister one.She is only twelve. But I think things will get better if I can easily find her.
