We realised the importance of YOGA very lately at the age of 35 after spending so much for the doctors, meant for only temporary relief. Myself, my husband with two children had taken one year trainig classes in Yoga. Though it is slow to take effect, it is permanent. From the last 12 yrs, we are continiuing the Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation. Asanas are the Physical Exercises, Pranayama is the breathing exercises which cures all the remedies eagarding the lungs etc. Even the doctors are giving advice to follow these. And Meditation is for our mental peace which is the must for the present generation. But our two boys neglected yoga due thier insufficient time in thier IT jobs. But even now we are doing all three for half an hour daily. If there is no time anyday, you should do atleast Suryanamaskar, which contains 16 steps as given in the above Poster. It will keep you intact..physically and mentally.

I love yoga as well. It is a slow cure, but it lasts. I'm glad I found yoga at a young age. It gives me strength that moves past the physical benefits. I have a mental peace and focus that I can apply to any aspect of my life.

Yoga is amazing and I have done it since I was a teenager, although I sometimes I am bad and don't do it for years. I've never heard of Suryanamaskar and usually try and do the salute to the sun although I haven't even done that for a while.
I will have a go at it as it looks a good sequence to do.

Oops I just looked at Suryanamaskar again and it is a version of the sun salutation. The one I do is slightly different.

Thank you for your interest in yoga. You are correct.Sun Salutation is the other name of the Suryanamaskar. It is very good for the total health.

I have been practicing yoga for the past few years and I have benefitted alot from it.Its good if we start Yoga at a young age but even then if one gets an opportunity be it any age we should never miss the opportunity to learn yoga and we should make it a habit to practice it regularly. Its not like the other exercises where we can do it only when we are young this can be practiced even in our old age. There are days when i dont find the time to do all my asanas, on those days I do only the suryanamaskar.Yoga is a Psychic cure.It is a life saving tool.It is higher than other exercises. It brings about an internal transformation and above all it establishes a unity with the divinity.I am so glad that more and more people are taking to Yoga.
