Hi..I want to travel in Europe soon. I have apply the long stay visa (D) in Spain but actually I want to visit Holland first. Do you know more about the Schengen visa procedure? Do I have to apply the Holland Visa first?

The schengen visa ia a visitor's visa which can be used in all of the 15 or more countries who are covered by the Schengen Treaty. So if you are travelling to Spain but want to visit Holland first, since both of these countries are schengen countries you can apply for a visa to be issued for your long stay in Spain (extensions are difficult to get so apply for the longest period you want which can be approved) and use the same visa to first visit Holland before proceeding to Spain.

Thank you acevivx...I've informed that I got type D for the visa. I don't know but the embassy said that I can't visit Holland first and I have to look for residence permit before I can visit others Schengen countries...Well, what do you think about this? Is it right? Thank you.

Yes, the Embassy is right. Since you have a D visa, you have to enter the country which issued it first, get a residence permit there before you can travel to other schengen countries. I guess you can't go to Holland first. You have to go to Spain and get a residence permit first before you can go to Holland
