I was just trying to clean my keyboard using a Q-Tip dipped in a cleaning solution. This is driving me nuts!!! Does anyone have an easier way to go about this? I've tried cleansing cloths, disinfecting wipes, etc. Is there something easier? Please! I'm going nuts!

The best way to clean it I found is useing compressed air it come in a can that you can find at any store. I use it to clean every part of my computer even in side where the mother borad and all those lovely gadets are. I will use the vaccume at the end to suck up all the dust ball that fall. You will fine dooing this your computer will kepp in better shape to. I hope this helps and good luck.

I've always used the compressed air on the inside of my computer. I never thought to use it on my keyboard! I'm giving it a good cleaning tonight, using the compressed air. I have two cans of it right here in my office right now. Thanks for your advice!

To be honest, for the time and effort it takes, and the cost of cleaning products, I'd find it more economical to buy a new keyboard. What are they now, $5? *checks* My bad. They start on some sites at $3, including shipping.

Oh, I know that the price of these things has really come down! I remember when they were about $50.00 or $60.00 for a new one! Well, maybe that's the ergonomic keyboard I bought once. They're really nice if you type a lot (I used to be a typesetter), but they take some getting used to. One of these days I'll get a new one, but I'm a cheapskate. LOL I'll hang onto this one for a little longer. Hey, that's a gallon of gas! LOL

Will generally what I do is every morning I turn the key would all round and slap it for a few times so that all the loos dirt comes out directly in it. But this doesn't work always because our hand sometimes have oil and stuff like that which gets a simulated on the keyboard and that is why sometimes I had to use solutions to clean the keys one by one. This is one very painful job because they are so close and it is very difficult to clean it each and every key properly. Curiously I had a white keyboard and then I changed to Blackburn so that it would have proclaimed regularly because I don't like dirty keyboards or any part of my computer. Apart from this I think of that complainer is a must if you'd need to clean your key would drop early because not always will did that come out with those slaps which you give to your keyboard and so you need a good blow and a pack to clean it up.

I do the canned air bit too but about every 3 months I call me tech geek friend and he'll come over and take it apart to do a real good cleaning.

Umm... Use a small brush. Brush off the dust especially in between the keys. After brushing, if it isn't enough, use cotton buds, slightly wet, to reach for any more dirt in between those keys. Then use some clean cloths to fully wipe the whole keyboard. Works for me, hope it works for you too.

hey, i just use a brush attached to the vacuum cleaner, the brush unsettles the dust in the gap which is promtply sucked in by the vacuum cleaner! and viola, you're keyboard looks all new and sparkling! :)

Hi , Usually , I will use a q-tip like you brought up in your post here on the lot . Sometimes, it works and sometimes it does not . My brother always eats by the computer so their are crumbs and i have to shake them out . Then , I will use a clorex wipe to try to clean it . Other than that I have no clue on what you can use . my cousin uses a toothbrush , and that is good for dust on vents too

A lot of folks mentioned using canned air. I hadn't thought of that! I use it to clean the dust out of my computer, but never thought of using it on my keyboard. I'm definitely doing that tonight and then tackling it with the Q-Tip. Thanks for your ideas!

i have not tried to clean up my keay board yet but i cover them with dust covers so that dust does not enters into them but have you tried using a vaccum cleaner i thing that willl be the good option for easily cleaning yourmm key board it will remove dust particles but it wont reomve any dried up stains or you should spray some spirit on it and then heat it up using blow dryer this will renew your keybord and it will work as new one
