Have you seen standing eggs before? I have made it!

My friend told me that during the dumpling festival in lunar calender, it's possible to make eggs standing vertically at noon. So I decided to give it a try. And it really happens. But I was curious those eggs keep on standing without falling down even after it's at night. So, have you tried this out? Or, have you heard about or have seen anyone did it before?2008 July 21th 11:19pm

Yeah, a few days before the fifth day of the fifth month in the Chinese lunar calendar the dumpling festival day (duan wu jie), it was believe that egg could stand vertically easily on level ground during these days. So I could see many people trying to let the egg to stand vertically on the floor or on the table when I happened to pass by the market square. But I did not have much interest on it then.
Later on, I received a phone call from a friend telling me that he had successfully made an egg to stand vertically. At first it seemed rather incredible for this to happen. The first thought that came into my mind was, I wanted to challenge myself whether I could really do it. I then immediately took an egg and tried to do it. After attempting for ten minutes or s, hurray ... I really got it. 
I then got few more eggs to stand as well. I was so happy and excited, and I snatched some photograph of them. I am sorry that I couldn't find the photos out now as my album is rather messy

Glad that you have made it too. It's so amazing isn't it? It's not easy for the first one, because I am not familiar and totally have no idea how to make an egg stand. But being driven by curiosity, I have made the 1st one standing and I am so elated seeing it. Then the 2nd and third one becomes easier, fueled by the confidence of the first success. No problem at all, you can always check back with this discussion to upload the photo, when you have sorted it out. Thanks for your response!

I like challenges and also like to impress people by achieving something which is looks impossible. I think share some character commonalities in this. I am not sure after the dumpling festival, the eggs can still be standing anymore, because I don't have chance at all to give it a try again. I hope you finally have found the eggs picture that you are looking for. So that other mylotters could enjoy seeing the amazing phenomena. 
Confidence and believe is one of the important factor in making an egg stand upright. Some of friends have doubts in it, and he is not skillful too, so he failed to do it and claimed that it's not true.

Yeah, I always like to try new thing and also to challenge myself as well. I would feel extremely excited and elated if I could defeat anything which many thought that it is difficult to achieve. 
I totally agree with you, after to stand the first egg successfully we then got the tip to make the rest of the eggs to stand upright easily. I still couldn’t find the photos of my standing eggs in the gallery in computer anyway. Thought the golden period is over, I still want to try to see whether I could make an egg to stand vertically after this period. If I could I surely would take the photo of it and share it with you.

I think during normal day, it's not so easy to do it. But when it's during the dumpling festival of lunar calendar, you can make the eggs stand easily. The photo was actually taken on 8th of June 2008. So you might need to wait for the dumpling festival of next year (it falls on 2009 May 28th), to try it out again.
