I am forever walking around thinking it's like a Thurs. only to find out it's a Fri. Then I'm like " How on earth did I lose a whole day?" I know this happens to my dad a lot but he has slowed blood flow to his brain. I was wondering if this happens to other people too or am I finally losing my poor little mind?

Going around the world I lost a day because I crossed the International data line. I flew from Hawaii to Fiji and then on to Sydney. So I remember crossing one day out of my diary. It seemed so funny at the time and had me wondering about airline staff on routes like that. When traveling I can feel so relaxed I wonder which day it is. This matters because it would be awful to miss a flight. I am sorry to hear about your dad. Perhaps trying some new hobbies will jog your memory like it is Thursday so I am going to the movies for example. Good luck.

My friend's dad smokes and is now in poor health. He hasn't got the will power to give up. I know that my friend can't do anything to get him to stop smoking. It sound like the way you feel about your dad. Good luck. Yes, I will have a look about your post about brain exercises. I wrote a post about a man that forgot who he was and where he lived. He suffered a complete memory loss in 2005 and he has been rebuilding his life.

First "Thanks" for the kind thoughts about my Dad. He's a heavy smoker and that is what has caused the blockage he won't quit so they said they cleared it once but won't be able to do it again. What can you do he's a grown man and will do what he wants.
As for me I'm doing a lot to try and help my memory get a little sharper. You can check out my post on Brain Exercises.
Though I have to say yours is by far not memory thing. I would be so confused if I had to cross a line and lose a whole day. That has really got to mess with you when you come back. Do you go back a day? Leave on weds. night and land on weds. morning.
Thanks for the post.

A day, how about a year?
The year is almost over and I still have so much to get done.
I need to prepare myself ready for school, yes little old me going back to school.
I sometimes wake up and think oh no it is Friday already. I still need to
send an email to the Regional Center for my daughters report,
I need to contact the therapist for appointment, I need to call the school to find
out how progress. I need to find a new summer camp for her, and the list goes on
forever that I need and feel the need to stay awake all night to catch up.
Then the other side of me, says, is it Friday yet? I need the weekend here sooner
so I can sleep longer and have time to rest.

Hi Freedom, this happens to my Dad a lot but at 95, he gets confused about a lot of things from time to time. It used to happen to me when I was living with him...we would actually have o figure out what day it was by looking at the date on the newspapers that were delivered Mon to Fri. It must be the atmosphere I think. I can sometimes only tell by the date on my computer.

I have that problem if there has been a holiday or something on a weekeday. I will get my days mixed up and think one day is another day. It is very strange. I usually notice it becasue I'm thinking of what will be on TV tonight and then i realize I ahve the day wrong. it is really peculiar. NO tradgedy though.

Yes it happens to me all the time. I really think it is more of wishful thinking or stress, now really sure which. With 3 boys, a dog, kittens, rabbit, husband I think that it is probably stress ! But sometimes it's mylot that screws me up too, with the international users. I got on one day and the one friend I have had a discussion about Happy Monday, I was like oh it's Monday everyone is late, my husband was like no it's Sunday .
I use lots of notes (post its) and try really hard to put everything in the same place all the time. It helps but not when the children move things.

I have one that has autism and the other children make fun of him because he likes to know where EVERYTHING in the house is, but most of the time when I can't find something I can ask him and he knows! It's so great!

You are not alone, this happens to me all the time!! I often have to rush to reach a deadline I thought was only for another day, but that may also be because I'm a procrastinator. You're not loosing your mind, or at least I hope so!! Otherwise I have lost my mind already a long time ago;)

One time my brother told me it was Wednesday, reminding me of an appointment I had later that afternoon.
I was positive it was Tuesday and no matter what my brother said, I kept insisting it was Tuesday. Finally, he got so frustrated he told me to check my cell phone, that displays the date and time.
Picking it up, I couldn't believe it was Wednesday and I did have an appointment that day! What would I have done without my brother and how did I lose an entire day?
I don't think your blood isn't getting to your brain like your dad's, but it sounds like a comical and really good excuse for basic memory loss!

Yeah I kinda look for the comical spin on everything, so every time I forget something I tell my dad it's all his fault for rubbing off on me. The real funny part is that he's my step-dad but other than his blue eyes you could never tell we weren't blood. I got very lucky.

That's me. I just asked if today was Tuesday, and found out it was Monday. I know this happens to my mom a lot. She would never know what day it is unless she looks at her computer that has the time and day at the bottom. You're not alone.

I keep a calender above my desk that I mark off every morning now to try and cut back on the lost days. Yet some how I can still get confused. Heaven help me if I take a nap while the sun is up and wake up after it goes down, for some reason that really messes with my head.
