Obama Wants To Be President For Eight to Ten Years.

Now I know that Obama is the "constitutional law professor" but maybe he did not read the 22 amendment which limits the term of the President for two four year terms. Maybe I should have learn constitutional law instead of business administration, becuase I know more about the constitution than Obama does, and he is a "professor".
Obama told the Face the Nation audience yesterday that "the objective of this trip was to have substantive discussions with people like President Karzai or Prime Minister Maliki or President Sarkozy or others who I expect to be dealing with over the next eight to 10 years."
The only way this can be accomplished is for the 22 amendment to be changed.
This might not be a big deal if it was only one mistake, but we can just add this statment to a long list of mistakes with his choice of words. Obama seems to have little regard for how his words are interpreted. This reveals a lazy, careless attitude that could cause huge problems for the United States if he runs off at the mouth at the wrong time.

Our enemies and even our friends with whom we have intense economic competition no doubt mentally rub their hands together with glee or just simply gloat with eager anticipation everytime they hear Obama, the leading candidate to win the Presidency, make such sloppy, incompetant, imprecise statements. There are a lot of people counting on 'eating our lunch' if Obama wins.

I don't recall Bush saying that there are 59 states in America.

barrudaki, Thanks for proving my point even w/o getting it. The point is that after having to listen to "8 years of Bushisms". (most of which are taken out of context) This is the best candidate available? This guy is a doofus w/o a teleprompter. Believe me, This is not his first mistake like this and it won't be his last. And already with the race card. If you don't agree with BhO, Then you are a RACIST.(a racist) I have seen more cartoons of Bush drawn as a monkey and compared to a monkey than as a human.(But then I am one who wades thru liberal filth) But OH EM GEE you BeTeR not compare Obi to a monkey or you are a RACIST(a racist). Liberals care more about political correctness than truth. Want proof? Talk to some high schoolers.

And I like how people not only cling to one tired mistake, but they change it from 57 states to 59 states. Come on now, if you were not so blinded by your right wing agenda, you would see that McCain's mistakes are a MOUNTAIN compared to Obama's MOLEHILL. Talk about blindly following someone!

Judging from your response to the comments from others about this- it appears we have hit a nerve. The whole point here in my mind is that Obama thinks anything that is said about him- jokingly or otherwise is racially motivated and offensive. he and his supporters need to lighten up. Why don't I run for President- I am willing to admit that I am not qualified. Wish he would do the same!

Mmm, well, if he's dealing with them now, he's already started dealing with them six months before the elections. Has he dealt with them previously? He's talking about discussions which last 8-10 years, not a presidency which does.
'Clutching at straws' is one phrase jumping to mind.

Oh, and let's be generous and assume it was a slip of the tongue or ignorance on his part, as you're suggesting, rather than your part. It's got a long way to go to beat "The vast majority of our imports come from overseas", as our current President famously said.

Obama is an idiot... he was not a Constitutional Law professor, he was merely a lecturer. When he got caught in that lie he changed the website with new wording.
He talks of hope and change and really says nothing much beyond those phrases. I guess that he is hoping that we trust him to make the right changes... yeah sure.
He changes his position on issues much in the way that Bill Clinton did, and it is beginning to look like he would base his decisions on the polls just like Clinton did.
Obama is naive and has no idea as to what he is doing.
I do know that he hates the flag, as he just had his campaign jet redone with his "O" symbol in it's place. I guess that is going to be our new flag if he is elected.
We will now longer be the USA, instead we will be the USO and known as Obama Country.
He is truly "The Boy Who would Be King".

Of course he wants to be president for the next eight or ten years, he wants to be dictator. Eight or ten years will give him enough time to change all the laws and give more rights to the pro abortionist crowd or whatever his goal is. That excuse he gave is just masking his true intention. Some people think Bush is evil, but Obama charismatism, and the fact that people are falling head over heels for him remind me of someone else decades ago. It is just that Obama being part Black is blinding them to the truth.
America needs someone who is familiar with the constitution and has no intention of changing it.

I agree, and liberals are so impressed. No matter what verbal flubs he makes thinks nothing of it. I often wonder if he knows he is making them. I am not sure sure he is that educated. He may have gone to Harvard...but you hear about people cheating on papers and tests all the time. Who knows what he did while he was there. So many are impressed with his so-called speaking skills that I don't think they listen to what he says. They just look at his body language. He appears confident. That is enough for them...But then he may be planning on changing that amendment. He seems to think he can do anything. Can you say new world order?

*shrug* Just chalk it up as another in a long list of verbal "oopsies" that he and every other candidate in political history have made. Macain has made his fair share, as did Hillary, Romney, Guliani, Dodd, etc. I would myself like to see the focus on more significant issues, like his steadfast refusal to stop letting the enemy know when we plan on leaving or abjectly ignoring Petreaus' warnings to not set a time line.
