Does anybody here know of a website or any other method by which someone can try to find out the title of a book by describing the plot? I read a book a couple of years ago and I think I would like to read it again, but I cannot remember either the title or the author. I remember that I once found a website dealing with movies and TV that allowed you to describe the plot of a movie or tv show and people would suggest what it might have been. (No, I don't remember the name of the website either.) I know it's a longshot, but I figure that it's worth asking. TIA

Ummm...I don't know, but here's an idea: just describe the plot in a discussion right on mylot. I've seen a couple people do it and get an answer fairly quickly. I think you'd have a better shot with that. Plus, you can make a few cents on the deal that way.

The best place for the movies is http://www.imdb.com/ (Internet Movie Database), it's always been a very big help for me at work and in my private life As for books - yes, I guess perhaps the best way is to describe it on a forum like suggested above... If you remember the author or a title then the online catalogs of big libraries (like Library of Congress) are the best solution: http://catalog.loc.gov/

I have heard of a place called ChaCha where you can text your question and they have guides who will answer your question. I'm not sure if you have to text it or if you can ask at their website. It's chacha.com

There's a couple of ways you can go about this. Wikipedia is a mine of information; if you can remember the names of any of the major characters in it, they should have an entry. Work backwards from that to find the book. Secondly, ask on here, or Yahoo answers. Someone's bound to remember ;)
