Movies based on PC games

Hi friends.... Have you noticed the current trend that now-a-days film makers are making movies based on well-known computer games?
There are already a lot of movies released this way like hitman, silent hill and so on. There are a lot waiting in the row also like splinter cell, prince of persia etc to be released very soon.
Few years ago, trend was reverse. Games were designed based on movies then.
What do you think, why this change occurs? Is the gaming becoming more popular than movies, or onlythe strong story-line of games attracting film makers?

Hello friend, I also think so that now a days gaming has become more popular then ever. Mine favorite game is Prince of persia series the movie called sand of time is just about to release. If you see you will find that Harry potter series is also same. The game of Harry potter all 5 episodes have been released earlier than the movies. Now a days gaming industry is becoming more and more popular. So lest wait and see what happens next. good luck and have a nice day on mylot.
