Do you think that the author of Harry Potter made Dumbledore gay to make gay people more accepted in society? I can see this actually an effect on people's opinions about gay people, simply because Harry Potter is a very popular thing, although it seems weird to make such an important character in the story gay. What do you think, do you think that she made him gay just to promote gayness?

J.K.Rowling said that Dumbledore reminds her of someone she knows and that person is gay. I don't know why he couldn't be gay. I think it's normal and it shows that she thinks everyone has a place in Harry Potter's world. I wasn't glad or even sad when I heard he was guy. I felt like "He is gay? Why not?". It really doesn't bother me. It doesn't matter if he is guy or straight. He is still one of the best characters in the book.

It was just another attempt by Rowlings to keep the attention on herself. She probably wasn't suing anyone that week and was bored.

Hi. I respect your views, but I don't think she wants us to think of that. When writing a book you always have to be spontaneous and creative so people will get to excited and looks after what will happen to the next chapters of your book, so I think she did that to leave us a question in our heads and make us wonder. But whatever it is, I agree with you that a strong character such as of Dumbledore is quite odd to be of that. Thanks!
