I feel better when I found this post. Know why? It looks good there are still people on earth who have good reading habits. I feel that this great habit is becoming lesser and lesser with people due to such fast world where there's no time to read. A person owns a habit in his or her childhood generally. But, now-a-days in such a competetive world every parents want to make their child a master-in-all. This leave them in a situation, where there's no time to relax. Again, today's children are more attracted to visual aids, they prefer to watch a 2 and half hour Harry Potter movie rather than spending hours to read it. But this doesnt let their imaginationto bloom. Personally, being a great fan of reading books, still I can read only 1or two books per month. Blame it on my jobs

good to know u r a bookworm, too. children don't read a lot, that's understandable. while for adults, we are mature to know that reading enrich our minds and meet our special needs like lerning some techniques to manage our finance, i am working on that, or learning a foreigh language. Thanks to heaps of books that i can write u a line in English nowadays.

reading also makes me sleepy, at least, it saves you sleeping pills. and by reading can-not-be-put-down books , you may feel exciting and sleepless, too.

Maybe it's because you are a bookworm or is someone who have the time to read all of them. I'm not much of a bookworm but there are times when I read a lot too, most especially if it's pertaining my field of work and interest. At one time, because of research etc. I had come to read around 4-5 books in a month cover to cover. But usually though, I could scan a lot of books but not really read them thoroughly, more of reference books. I guess it really depends though, if you're talking about fiction or stories then maybe there would be a lot but if it's pertaining to subject, I doubt you'd read cover to cover :) could you read an encyclopedia cover to cover? I doubt it. Novels, stories, fictions, romance and etc. I could read a lot. But I could say I've outgrown those stuff. Now I'm into more deep stuff like psychology, sciences and the like. Mostly serious books. :) Well, it's not always a fun read but at least I get to learn a lot. And by the way, with the internet age, I hardly would lift a book to research, I'm more of an internet user for information, unless I'm dissatisfied of what I find, I'd stick to the internet. I even go for e-books now for leisure reading. =)

yes, you are right. while i seldom read novels, if, in that case, i guess i can cover at least 1 book in no more than 2 days. Normally, i read serious books as you do. I read to learn, and reading gives rise to interest even though some academic ones. I study dream explaining, blood type and character, language,English of course cause I am Chinese, marketing, psycho, basic painting, finance, ect. Internet and books are both essential to us.

It depends. Sometimes, I don't read any at all, but I have the occasional craze where I'll finish two or three books a day for a couple of months. I'm in a bit of a slump, reading about one every week, but that just gives me more time to mylot!

I usually only read 4 books a month. I don't have a lot of time to read, so it takes me longer. I do enjoy reading though. Its something I have grown up with. I remember as a child going to the library and loving it and I still do! thanks for asking.

good for you, you began your reading at such early time. I only developed the habit of borrowing books from library 11 years ago when i was a sales girl, you know, communicate with all kinds of people, and i did learn a lot of skills and art to deal with people which ensured me a success in sales--top 11 in the whole Avon company in China area.

Wow...its far better than I did. I have a lot of books but only some of them that I have read. I choose the easiest book to read..and left the others for another time, but the result is that I never touch them...Having read the discussion, reminds me that I have many books to read..thank you.

So try to borrow some next time. Good day :)

woo! 8-10, hard to imagine. i guess a book entitled "how to read a thousand words in one minute" must be a best-seller for the next couple of years.

I can usually get through three per month, depending on what else is going on in my life at the time. Sometimes, I have a little more free times than others. I really love to read and so so at night while the rest of my family is watching tv.

that's right. i too, put piles of books on my bedside table so that i can pick one anytime, esp. before sleep. reading makes us wise and knowledgeable. and the more we read, the more we find ourselves innocent.

That's awesome and great to hear. I really think that if everyone was to read more than we would be more knowledgeable about the world and open-minded when it comes to new things. I used to read that many books a month when I was working as a customer service agent, because all I did was sit in a cubicle all day taking calls. Now that I'm a student and work part time as a substitute, all I have time for is school stuff. I do have some time in between semesters sometimes and I try to read as much as I can then.
