To avoid getting late, you need to adjust your time. I mean, if you usually get off your house an hour before your time for work, you need to make an adjustments. But of course, there are things that we are not in control like traffic. I seldom come to work late. If ever I am late, the reason is there's an emergency at home or I encounter traffic. But as much as possible, I try not to be late to avoid bad record.

Well I am right there with you girl. I try to be on time but something always prevent that from happening however, once school is back in session, I will have to make a conscious effort to change that.

That doesnt look good at you being late all the time. Aren't you afraid of someone telling on you? Don't you guys have 2 punch in for work or sign in? If I was late everyday i'd be fired because we have 2 punch in wit a time clock....

Is there a specific reason why you're late off of the time and are you getting your work done or does someone else have to do your job between 7:00 and 8:00? I guess you're lucky there is no boss around but one day your luck may run out so, if you like the job, you should try to show up on time.

I have noticed that some people tend to be late all the time while others are not. Perhaps if you tried to get up earlier and be more focused on getting to work, you'll get there on time. It's entirely possible, though, that your boss doesn't care as long as you get your work done and done well.
I am almost never late for work and if I am, it's usually no more than 10 minutes. I usually have a very good reason for being late, something that's beyond my control. People seem to hold me to a higher standard than other people because even being 5 minutes late gets me a lecture.

Do you make up this time? If you are meant to work 7am til 3pm and you get in an hour late then do you then stay an hour later. If you do this then I see no real problem with this, but if you are an hour late and not making up for it then you are getting free wages and this is not fair on your colleagues who are working the hours they should for the same money.

Hi,
In all my working years I can only remember being late for work twice. Once when I ran out of gas(my husband forgot to put in gas) I was ten minutes late and once when my car broke down, I was twenty minutes late. I made sure my boss knew so I wouldn't get paid for the time I wasn't there. I would always leave at least early enough to get to work thirty minutes before the time to start. My feelings for this is if you get paid for eight hours of work then you should put in eight hours of work. If you don't you are stealing from the people you are working for. I for one don't like working with people who are late all the time. That is being dishonest!
